Pastor Xinia, Judith and I had the honor of hearing the sad yet hopeful stories of 9 mothers who are currently taking the new parenting classes at the Centro de Transformación Mariposa in La Guacima.  Many received numerous painful wounds from hurtful words or beatings as a children from parents who did not have the tools to guide them in life-giving ways. Many long for help so that they won't continue this cycle with their own children.  In order for their children to receive early stimulation classes at this family life center, the mothers are required to attend this learning community where they receive support and encouragement to guide their children using non-violent discipline techniques. This is all a part of providing life-giving, Christ centered alternatives to the at-risk families in the community surrounding the Mansion of Light Church.
Team teaching with these two other leaders has been a gift to me as I learn from and lead with them.  As we share leadership, we show how being a part of the Body of Christ encourages us to use our unique gifts to serve one another. The women who are receiving these classes are also sharing their experiences with each other, learning from each other and putting new parenting skills into practice as they invest time and energy into their relationships with their children. All of this works together to build stronger children, stronger families and a stronger community. The Centro de Transformación Mariposa is moving forward as it seeks to build strong links of love, one child and family at a time. Thanks for your prayers and support that make these types of outreach ministries and leadership development opportunities possible.
Educating and being educated with heart and not hits,
