Happy New Year!!! I am excited about two things to start the New Year.  This is my first Blog and looking forward to using this tool as a way to share with you monthly about our mission encounter, White Cross, Special Interest Missionaries and other information you might be interested in learning about. 

 

This month I am excited to announce our Overseas Mission Encounter.  We are heading to South Africa and Democratic Republic of Congo on April 21 – May 6, 2011.  I have heard over the years many of you could not wait for this trip to happen.

 

As you know I have led two Mission Encounters, Europe in 2007 and Nicaragua/Costa Rica this past February 2009.  Both trips have made a big impact on my life and have changed my thinking as well as my view about the world.

 

Those of us who have experienced these trips came back changed and saw what a wonderful ministry our missionaries do for those they are helping and sharing God’s love.  I will be sharing from time to time some of those experiences.  American Baptist International Ministries continues to be a vital partner with missions.

 

You have a great opportunity to “Come and Be Surprised” by walking in our missionaries footsteps as we see together what God is doing in South Africa and Democratic Republic of Congo.
