Deliris Carrión Rosa, IM missionary, is being assigned to international service in Haiti. She will begin her new Haiti ministry in April 2010. Deliris has been invited by the Haitian Baptist Convention in Cap Haitien to work as an Occupational Therapist. She will help in the recovery process of persons who have suffered arm or leg injuries during the January earthquake, and also help in the psychological aspect of dealing with the losses and results of this tragedy. Deliris worked as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist before becoming a missionary and is certain that God can use her to bless the lives of children with special needs and also of those who have been injured during the earthquake.

“Deliris is passionate about her ministry, she is consecrated in her relationship with God and eloquent in her personal testimony and in conveying the message of the Gospel,” commented José Norat-Rodríguez, IM’s area director for Iberoamerica/Caribbean.

Deliris will help Pediatric Medical Teams in their work with children and be a support for the groups who are planning to come and help in health care clinics during this critical time and beyond. Once she has made the contacts and has a place to receive work groups in Haiti, she will also help in providing a space to stay and be a facilitator between the visitors and the Haitians.

Deliris will be living in La Romana, DR for one year with Ketly Pierre’s (IM missionary in Nicaragua) relatives to learn Creole. She will be accompanying groups going from La Romana to Haiti.

Deliris has been a missionary serving with International Ministries since April 1, 1998 and has previously served two terms in El Salvador. She is an ordained American Baptist pastor.
