"We always thank God when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints." Colossians 1:3

I often tell my children that we can see God at work if we just pay attention. These God glimpses continue to move me especially when I'm paying attention.  My faith is encouraged and expanded when I see the amazing God of the universe, active in everyday life, making me more grateful. With a grateful heart, I want to share some of the God glimpses I've noticed lately here in our neighborhood of San Jose, Costa Rica.

*Good news thoughtfully and powerfully proclaimed by Gary's seminary students while preaching to their classmates and congregations.

*Hospitality offered and significance celebrated by friends who asked good questions of our daughter Jamie on her return from a 3 month volunteer/study program in Kolkatta India.

*Faith in action represented by a poster in a local church of pledged support committed to building a dignified home for their neighbor.  Their neighbor made her livelihood in the sex trade, but now finds faith and forgiveness in Christ because the church across the street choose to love her and her son.

*Solidarity shown by a group of women pastors working together to put on an elegant dinner to bless their friends and raise funds so that they can ALL attend a gathering of Baptist women pastors of Central America in Nicaragua this July.

*Compassion on the lap of my pastor who has no biological children of her own, but whose husband brings 10 orphaned children to church each Sunday so they can be loved on and cared for by the church community that she leads.

*Healthy lifestyles and generosity encouraged in the walk-a-thon for Haiti promoted by Micah's National Honor Society group at school.  Together these young people organized the event and raised over $1100 to donate to folks helping the children of Haiti.

*Generosity shared through 8 new committed partners to our ministry here in Costa Rica through the 360 Matching Funds program.  We are overwhelmed by the trust they have placed in us and privileged to see God at work in our midst because of their gifts.  It is not too late to join them if you would like to partner with us as well. The 360 Matching Funds program runs through May 31 and is available on the IM website.

*God glimpses come in notes sent to and received from you, our friends. They come in regular and unexpected calls on skype or through virtual mission tours. They come in everyday sunsets or rainy days.  They come through you and me.

Where have you seen God glimpses lately? We'd love to hear from you and celebrate how God is showing up in your neighborhood.

In expectation,
Mylinda
