Xtreme Team 2010
After a long day, our four Xtremers have made it to Detroit. The first Xtremer, Ivan, arrived at 6:30am, followed by Kim around 9am. Because of flight cancellations, Hannah was the only one to arrive at 11am. Dexter finally made it to Detroit at 7:30pm.
Once the Xtremers arrived, they had a full day of getting to know each other (by miming their introductions) and starting the Xtreme training, which they will be continuing until their X-odus to Egypt on Wednesday.

Ivan's Xperience:
The
day I left home was a day I replayed over and over again thinking about the way
it would all play out parents crying of course, then you have those friends who
try to man up and hold it all in hahaa but they couldn’t and neither could I.
It was really moving seeing everyone shed tears as you choke up inside and
leaving your loved ones back home. This being the farthest and longest I've
been away from home. But I know all is well and all will be well, because we
all go in God's hands.
My
flight went fine other than the fact that I think I sat in the wrong zone
hahaa. Arriving at the airport today at 6am (3am SD time) waiting and unsure
what to expect from the other team members that I hadn't met yet. So I took a
nap not being able to sleep much on the plane. After the hours passed and yes I
do means hours Kim (Denver Colorado) found me and later we were able to find
Hannah (New Hampshire). Dexter the fourth team member arrived late because of a
flight being canceled.
The
three of us looked around for our next clue after receiving more than a few
hints hahaa. Once finding the van waiting for us we went to the First Baptist Church
of Dearborn, Michigan. We each had to present ourselves to the other team
members and leaders which was really fun! It really gives everyone a chance to
grow as a team and get to know each other. we took a ride to Hamtramck and got
to see parts of Detroit, a lot of abandoned buildings. As I force myself to
push through the Rest of the day as I nod in and out of sleep hahaa. We also saw
a House nicknamed Disneyland built by a man from Poland with ALL KINDS of
creative things like planes and horses and ceiling fans which was really cool
to see.
