Agosto ha llegado. La Ofrenda Misionera Mundial (OMM) se acerca… Miles de paquetes con materiales han sido enviados a las iglesias en Puerto Rico y los EE.UU. La página web tiene recursos electrónicos, incluyendo el video de la OMM.
Mientras tanto, a la vez que continuamos nuestra inmersión en nuestro nuevo campo de misión (en Valencia, España), seguimos el adagio del Deteneos, Mirad y Escuchad…
Deteneos, mirad y escuchad, aprended y sumergíos antes de comenzar la acción. Hay muchos ministerios funcionando en la UEBE (Unión Evangélica Bautista de España) y hay áreas de necesidad en las que colaboraremos en asociación con las iglesias.
Mirad alrededor; la gente, el vecindario, el ambiente. Aprended sus códigos de reciclaje, sus monedas y billetes, su manera de hablar… Mirad los rostros de quienes buscan en los basureros de reciclaje algo de comer o vender o en la puerta del supermercado esperando algo de comer para sus familias, mayormente migrantes.
Escuchad las conversaciones con líderes en las Iglesias como Manuel y Dámaris, Lola, Eduardo y Elizabeth, Estrella, Rubén e Inma, Rubén y Rut, Julio y Raquel, Jorge, Xoan, y muchos otros en ministerio y con quienes soñamos y planificamos el futuro.
Visitamos iglesias y seguiremos visitando. Colaboraremos en la escuela de vacaciones en la Iglesia de Quart (30 ago/5 sep). Seguimos dando forma a esta fase inicial de inmersión en ministerio en España.
¡Vuestra Ofrenda Misionera Mundial hace posible que misioneros bautistas americanos como nosotros estemos en el campo de misión, sirviendo con nuestros socios en ministerios en más de 70 países alrededor del mundo!
Este año el tema es “En Haití y en el mundo”, pues vuestra respuesta al terremoto (en Haiti y luego en Chile, Baja California y China) refleja hermosamente los ministerios que representamos Deliris, Madeline, Ingrid, Mercy, Ricardo, Doris y nosotros en Iberoamérica y El Caribe y cada colega alrededor del mundo.
No estaremos en Puerto Rico o EE.UU. para esta época de OMM pero la diferencia horaria nos permite “visitaros” con llamadas “a-la-misión-por-skype” con vuestras iglesias o ver vuestros cultos en ustream.tv cuando se puede. Estamos agradecidos por vuestro generoso apoyo en el pasado, por su apoyo contínuo en el presente y por futuras ofrendas para ministerios en desarrollo. ¡Vuestras ofrendas transforman vidas alrededor del mundo!
Filipenses 4:6-7 nos recuerda que “Por nada estéis angustiados, sino sean conocidas vuestras peticiones delante de Dios en toda oración y ruego, con acción de gracias. Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús.”
La UEBE está activa en múltiples ministerios en España e internacionalmente. ¡Han enviado a Julio Cháfer y Dámaris Juárez a Guinea Ecuatorial para servir en Malabo por un año! La UEBE es una convención misionera que envía y recibe misioneros. Compartimos la misma pasión por las vidas de quienes no conocen al Señor. Sentimos una paz que sobrepasa todo entendimiento; la certeza de que el Espíritu Santo inquieta a quienes coparticipan con vuestras oraciones, vuestro aliento y vuestro apoyo contínuo y un Espíritu Santo que nos dice “deteneos, mirad y escuchad” y entonces comenzad la acción…

August is here… World Mission Offering (WMO) season is upon us… Thousands of packages of materials were shipped to churches across Puerto Rico and the U.S. Our mission society’s website has downloadable resources and the latest WMO video.
Meanwhile, as we continue our immersion into our new mission field in Valencia, Spain, we Stop, Look, and Listen…
We stop to look and listen, learn and immerse ourselves before jumping in. There are ministries already in place within UEBE (Baptist Evangelical Union of Spain) and there are areas of need where we will contribute in partnership with local churches.
We look around; the people, the neighborhood, the environment. We learn their recycling codes, their coins and bills, their way to talk… We see those who look into the recycling bins to find something to eat or sell or stop at the door of the supermarket hoping for something for their families.
We listen as we have conversations with church leaders like Manuel and Dámaris, Lola, Eduardo and Elizabeth, Estrella, Rubén and Inma, Rubén and Rut, Julio and Raquel, Jorge, Xoan, and many others who are in ministry and dream as we plan for the future.
We have already visited several churches and will visit some more this month. We’ll volunteer at the church in Quart for their VBS, Aug 30 to Sep 5. We have more planning/brainstorming meetings coming up which will help us discern how to shape up this first phase of immersion into ministry in Spain.

We won’t be in the states or Puerto Rico during the WMO season, but the time difference between Spain and US/PR allows us to be available for “skype-a-mission” calls with your churches and watch your services on ustream.tv when available! We are grateful for your generous giving in the past, for your ongoing support in the present, and your future gifts for developing ministries. Your gifts are transforming the world!
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
The UEBE is active in ministries in Spain and internationally. They just sent Julio Cháfer and Dámaris Juárez to Guinea Equatorial to serve in Malabo for a year! The UEBE is a missionary convention that sends and receives missionaries to partner in what our Lord has for Spain and beyond our borders. Together we share the same passion for the souls of those who are yet to know the Lord, living their daily earthquakes… We are at peace which transcends all understanding for we know the Holy Spirit continues to nudge you to partner with us to reach out to those in need with your prayers, your encouragement and your loving ongoing support as we stop, look, and listen and start jumping in…
