Attached you will see that more kids are getting involved in mission the Bracelets of Hope way.Hoping to expand their production to keep up with the demand, Jamie and Micah Baits along with David Wiegner, invited the Centro Juvenil of the Santo Tomas Church to join them in making friendship bracelets. They welcomed one of Micah's friends from school, David Chamberlain to help with making and selling as well. With the extra hands and hearts, they were hoping to increase their supply of bracelets to sell during the Baits US/Puerto Rico assignment starting in June of 2004.

All of the bracelets made on the day that these pictures were taken were sold to the students of the Latin American Studies Program where David's dad is the Executive Director. Actually, they ordered more than 100 bracelets. So much for stocking up! Don't worry, though, the kids are hard at work creating more to sell in the US & Puerto Rico. Since they've started, more than $2000 has been given away to help the children of Costa Rica and beyond.

Not only have the children of Costa Rica benefited from this project, but all of the children involved have learned some significant lessons. The missionary kids themselves have had the opportunity to learn first-hand about a number of significant caring ministries and have met the people whose vision keeps them going. They have also learned of the challenges and struggles faced by many of the Costa Rican children their own age. They learned how working together can make a difference as well as how much work it takes to work together. They experienced the fatigue factor first-hand and have had to readjust the way they do things to include others along the way. They have received amazing support from people all over the US, Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica who have donated supplies and financial resources to keep their ministry going. They have learned that the biblical concept of three cords really works, but it takes a lot of commitment and energy to keep things going. They've also learned that they can inspire others on to good works by their example and that together we can make a big difference.

Our future is as bright as the promises of God and as strong as a cord of three strands. (See Ecclesiastes 4:12)
