November is a month for thanksgiving and sharing from our dear MPTers. Sue Menefee, from FBC of Greensburg, Indiana, and one of the three BGs Missionary Kid (MK) Advocates, shares:
  “I had the opportunity to be part of a mission team working with the BGs in Chile for two consecutive years. Joining them a second time meant deepening the relationships we had begun. Not only did we have some time to work together, we were able to spend time getting to know the whole family in a casual setting (while waiting for an airline delay!). It was in that setting that we learned more about the children, and the seeds were planted for expanding the Missionary Partnership Team to include Missionary Kid Advocates.
  Mayra and Carlos have matched their three children with MPT members who have similar interests and who can support the family needs that go beyond the work in which Mom and Dad are engaged. My musical interests mesh with the middle daughter, Carolina. And as a former homeschooling mom, my support of Mayra's and Carlos' efforts to teach their children is also a help.
  MK Advocates are in a wonderful position to offer personal encouragement to the children as well as the entire missionary family, staying in touch regularly, and lifting them up in prayer. Our special concern is that every family member is healthy and adjusting well to each assignment. We hope that knowing they have a 'buddy' just for them on the MPT is encouraging.”
  We surely are blessed with these great buddies for our children: Sue for Carolina (smenefee@quixnet.net), Cori Catellier for Daniela (fossilmom10@hotmail.com), and Dan Catellier for Alberto (d.catellier@hotmail.com). The Catelliers are from FBC  of Greenwood, Indiana. They each bring their God-given gifts to bless our children in ways that words cannot describe!
  We are grateful for these mature Christians that are alongside our children to shower them with prayers, friendship, and love. MKs are usually in a vulnerable spot in the mission field as they are not “the missionaries” themselves, yet they follow their missionary parents’ call and path. We are blessed to have such understanding children that each time we ask “shall we go ‘home’ and do things the way everybody else does?” they answer, “We’ll follow wherever the Lord needs you to be”.
  Our children know where they were born, but where are they from? Where is it they can call “home”? To them, home has been and is wherever we’re together and sleep that night. With so many places we’ve been to and visited together, it is hard to pinpoint a single place out… Fortunately, our citizenship is that of heaven, and that is where we will truly be home. Fortunately, our children have been able to come to Jesus at an early stage and are learning to follow His footprints so that when they are older they will never part from Him. Fortunately, we have three fine “buddies” to help us along and a bigger cloud of witnesses to cover our children with prayers as they grow and become adult MKs, with calls of their own, and ministries only His Spirit can shape them best for.
  We are grateful for this time in Spain: our children have been graciously welcomed in the churches we partner with and visit. We are grateful that as the world expands for them, they have the opportunity to witness as well. We are grateful that through your generous and loving support, you make it possible for us to be the hands, feet, and heart of Jesus here, so other children (and adults) can come to Him (Matthew 19:14) and be His disciples.

Noviembre es el mes de Acción de Gracias y compartir de nuestras amadas MPTers. Loyda Malavé y Nelly Torres, de la PIB de San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, nuestras hermanas de Apoyo a Hijo/as de Familia Misionera (MK Advocates), nos dicen:
  “Nuestra iglesia y el grupo de intercesión misionera han sido grandemente bendecidos con nuestra participación en el ministerio de los BGs. Tomamos en cuenta los tres niños: Alberto, Carolina y Daniela para orar por ellos de manera especial. Fue una linda experiencia compartir con la familia en varias ocasiones durante su tiempo de transición entre Chile y España.
   Alberto es para nosotros el varón especial de la casa y a quien apoyamos continuamente, pensando en su gran sentido de responsabilidad y dedicación en sus estudios. Oramos para que tenga experiencias enriquecedoras en España.
  (Nelly) como tesorera y tía adoptiva de Daniela he podido estimular y concienciar a otros sobre las necesidades económicas de los misioneros BGs, además de la intercesión. Ofrendando y orando nos sentimos parte de los proyectos de Dios para la gente de España. Me alegró pasar un tiempo de calidad con Daniela como mi sobrina adoptiva y sigo orando por ella y la familia.
  (Loyda) como la tía adoptiva de Carolina, me siento muy feliz; es una sobrina muy especial. Me siento bendecida a través de mi participación en el ministerio de los BGs; una experiencia única.”
  Los/as de Apoyo a MKs están en una posición privilegiada para estimular a cada niño/a y a la familia misionera, comunicándose con frecuencia y orando por ellos. Su preocupación es para que cada integrante de la familia esté saludable y se ajuste bien a cada asignación. Saber que les tenemos en el MPT es alentador.

  Los MKs usualmente están en una posición vulnerable en el campo misionero pues no son “los misioneros”; siguen el llamado y camino de sus padres misioneros. Son comprensivos y al preguntarles “¿nos vamos a ‘casa’ y hacemos las cosas como todos los demás?” ellos contestan, “les seguimos donde Dios necesite que estemos”.
  Nuestros hijos saben dónde nacieron, pero ¿de dónde son? ¿Qué lugar pueden llamar “mi hogar”? Para ellos, hogar ha sido y es donde estemos juntos y durmamos la noche. Es difícil identificar solo uno como “nuestro hogar”. Afortunadamente nuestra ciudadanía es la del cielo y allí estaremos realmente en nuestro hogar. Afortunadamente nuestros hijos han invitado a Jesús a sus corazones desde temprano y están caminando en Sus pisadas para que cuando lleguen a adultos no se aparten de Su camino. Afortunadamente nuestro Apoyo a MKs nos acompaña y son una nube de testigos que cubre a nuestra prole con oraciones en su crecimiento hacia una adultez saludable, con sus propios llamados y ministerios a los que el Espíritu Santo podrá capacitarles.
  Estamos agradecidos por este tiempo en España: nuestros hijos han sido bienvenidos en las Iglesias que visitamos. Estamos agradecidos que al expandirse su mundo, también tienen la oportunidad de dar testimonio. Estamos agradecidos que a través de tu generosa y amorosa aportación, podemos ser las manos, pies y corazón de Jesús aquí, para que la niñez (y personas adultas) vengan a El (Mateo 19:14) y sean Sus discípulos y discípulas.
