La vida en el campo misionero cuenta con abundantes aventuras,
bendiciones y desafíos. Ningún día es igual que el anterior ni fin de
semana igual que el siguiente. Cada día y fin de semana trae su propio
sabor. Mas, ¡cada mañana Sus misericordias son nuevas! Es así en
nuestras vidas; un recordatorio refrescante de la fidelidad de Dios a Sí
mismo y a nosotros…
Nuevo clima…
El otoño se asienta y el clima ha cambiado, experimentando temperaturas más frescas, usando abrigos y calefacción, consiguiendo lo necesario para enfrentar el invierno en España. Quince meses de clima más cálido (Puerto Rico y verano en EE.UU.) nos desacostumbró para este cambio. Pero, ¡nuestros corazones se derriten cada vez que vamos a una iglesia o nos comunicamos contigo!
Nuevo horario…
El cambio de estación trajo consigo el cambio de horario… El fin de semana pasado los relojes se retrasaron una hora… afortunadamente lo supimos a tiempo para ajustar nuestros relojes para el horario del domingo. Así que, por ahora estamos 5 horas delante del este de EE.UU. y Puerto Rico. Afortunadamente hay muchos instrumentos que nos ayudan a ver los horarios en lugares donde tenemos gente que amamos y les seguimos la pista…
Nuevo lugar…
Las visitas a las Iglesias continúan… El domingo 31, mientras celebrábamos el Día de la Reforma, pasamos la mañana en Segorbe, un nuevo lugar. Gerardo (Colombia) y Gladys (Argentina) nos esperaban. Tuvimos que entrar por “la puerta estrecha”… La Vall D’Uixó es la iglesia madre de esta nueva congregación (de unos 5 años). El Señor nos alentó a través de Carlos al compartir de Efesios los desafíos de los placeres humanos y los caminos de Dios. Mayra compartió la Comunión con hermanos y hermanas de Colombia, Argentina, Rumania, Brasil y España, alentando a nuevos creyentes en espera del bautismo a futuras oportunidades de participar de la Cena, en memoria de Él hasta que regrese. Muchas personas migrantes como ellas llegan a esta tierra en busca de paz y refugio...
Después del culto, disfrutamos la camaradería alrededor de la mesa; ellos almuerzan juntos cada último domingo de mes… Compartimos una variedad de platos, ensaladas, postres con gusto internacional, y buen café. Mientras siguieron conversando, nos preparamos para conectarnos por skype con la niñez de la Escuela Dominical en su capilla en la PIB de Caguas, Puerto Rico. Una sorpresa para ellos que sólo esperaban ver una foto de sus misioneros y nos encontraron conectados por internet. Fue emocionante, alentador y desafiante para ellos y nosotros ver tal entusiasmo…
De Segorbe nos movimos a La Vall D’Uixó para el culto de la noche donde Carlos nos volvió a desafiar a mostrar el amor de Dios como lo expresa Juan 13: para que otros sepan que somos Sus discípulos, si nos amamos unos a otros. Conocer mejor a Emilio, líder en las congregaciones, y sus hijas fue importante ese día, especialmente para nuestra Daniela que las disfrutó a cabalidad.
Próximamente…
Nuestros talleres y adiestramientos de líderes comienzan el 9 de noviembre en Dénia, parte de la Comunidad Valenciana, orando que muchas personas sean bendecidas con esta opción. El sábado 6 nos presentarán al liderato de la asociación durante su reunión anual. Sus oraciones por estas experiencias son apreciadas.

Life in the mission field is never short of adventures, blessings, and challenges. Not a single day is the same as the one before or a weekend the same as the next. Each day and weekend brings its own flavor. And yet, each morning His mercies are new! That is steady in our lives and a refreshing reminder of His faithfulness to Himself and to us…
New weather…
As autumn has set in, the weather has changed and we’ve been experiencing cooler weather, wearing sweaters and light coats, and getting appropriate gear to face winter in Spain. Fifteen months in warmer weather (Puerto Rico and summer in the States) left us unprepared for such a change. Yet our hearts are warmed up again each time we visit a church or communicate with any of you!
New time…
The change of season and weather also brought a change of time… Last weekend our clocks bounced back an hour… fortunately we learned about it in time to adjust our clocks for Sunday’s schedules. So, for now we are 5 hrs ahead of EST/Puerto Rico. Fortunately there are plenty gadgets that can help us keep the time right for each place where we have loved ones we keep track of…
New place…
Our visits to the churches continue… On Sunday the 31th, while celebrating the Day of the Reform, we spent our morning in Segorbe, a new place. Gerardo (Colombia) and Gladys (Argentina) were waiting for us. We had to enter through “the narrow door”… La Vall D’Uixó is the mother church to this new congregation (of about 5 yrs old). The Lord encouraged us through Carlos sharing from Ephesians the challenges of human pleasures and God’s ways. Mayra shared Communion with brothers and sisters from Colombia, Argentina, Rumania, Brasil, and Spain, encouraging new believers awaiting baptism for upcoming opportunities to partake of it, in remembrance of Him until He returns. Many of these migrants come to this land seeking peace and refuge...
After services, we enjoyed fellowship around the table; they eat lunch together every last Sunday of the month… An array of different plates, salads, desserts of international taste, and good coffee, were shared. While they continued the conversation, we prepared to connect via skype to the Sunday school children during their chapel at FBC Caguas, Puerto Rico. A surprise to them as they expected to see a picture of their missionaries and instead found us connected online! It was exciting, encouraging, and challenging for them and us to see such enthusiasm…
From Segorbe we moved to La Vall D’Uixó for evening service where Carlos challenged us again to show God’s love to one another as John 13 expresses: so others may know that you we are His disciples, if we love one another. Getting to know Emilio better, leader in these congregations, and his daughters was a highlight of our day, which our Daniela thoroughly enjoyed.

Our leadership workshops and trainings begin on November 9th in Dénia, part of the Valencian Community, and pray many will be blessed with this option. This coming Saturday, the 6th, we’ll be introduced to the association leadership when their churches are together for their annual meeting. Your prayers for these experiences are appreciated.
