We are learning to follow Jesus’ example in Matthew 9:35, going about the cities (and villages), teaching and preaching… We have been most grateful for bus, train, and taxi drivers who are taking us where our feet cannot. Challenging to travel in low temperatures (like the 50s we’ve had these days), but the warmth of each person that greets us in the places we go, melts down any weather that could freeze us…

Associació Baptista Certesa (ABC)… sharing…
On Saturday, November 6th, more than 60 leaders and pastors from the Valencian Community Association (ABC in Valencian) joined in their annual session to share their ministries’ reports and plan for the year ahead. We were introduced to the attendees that welcomed us with warmth and expectation for the leadership workshops and trainings (Cursos de Formación)—read below. It was encouraging to hear of the ministries each of the churches are involved in and how each of them are striving to fulfill God’s mission in their midst. Social action is common in most of them, as they reach to those in need due to unemployment and the always increasing numbers of migrants who are in need of love and support. We look forward to years of partnership with this and other UEBE associations as we extend and offer these workshops and ministry possibilities in other places in the future.

IEB Mislata… preaching…
On Sunday the 7th, we spent our morning in Mislata. Pastor Pepe greeted us warmly as usual and we were pleasantly surprised to see that summer has indeed ended; most of the congregation was in attendance, a much fuller audience that the last couple of times! Carlos shared on 2 Corinthians 4:7-11 encouraging the congregation to have faith in the midst of the difficulties we each face each day. Each time we’ve been to Mislata, we’ve been lovingly welcomed by doña Gloria, a lady with a sweet heart and a passion for missions. She and her late husband served in Tangier (Morocco) for many years and raised their sons, one of which was born there, and now serve the Lord in their local congregations. She is a prayer warrior for God’s mission and His missionaries, and we are blessed with her love and prayers.

Dénia… teaching…
Our leadership workshops and trainings (Cursos de Formación) began on Tuesday, November 9th in Dénia. We had 21 participants from different backgrounds (1 from Cuba, 1 from El Salvador, 2 from Argentina, 2 from Uruguay, and 14 from Spain—Alcoy, Alicante, Barcelona, Cuenca, Galicia, Ibi, Madrid, and Xátiva) representing Churches in Alcoy/Elche, Benidorm, Dénia, Ibi, La Vall D’Uixó, and Xátiva (ABC and southeast-Spain associations).Your continued prayers for these experiences are appreciated. We will meet two Tuesdays a month until May, sharing on the Old Testament and Homiletics, with a very practical flavor for these pastors, leaders and church members who are hungry to learn and eager to put to work what is shared!

New time…
Last weekend other places bounced back an hour… So, we’re back to being 6 hours ahead of EST, still 5 of Puerto Rico, but 9 of Pacific Time... We rely on gadgets that keep the time right for each place where we have loved ones we keep track of…

Seguimos aprendiendo a seguir el ejemplo de Jesús en Mateo 9:35, recorriendo las ciudades (y aldeas), enseñando y predicando… Seguimos muy agradecidos por cada conductor de autobús, tren y taxi que nos lleva donde nuestros pies no pueden. Es un gran desafío viajar en tan bajas temperaturas (como los 50s de estos días), pero la calidez de cada persona que nos recibe en los lugares que vamos, derrite cualquier clima que nos pueda intentar congelar…

Associació Baptista Certesa (ABC)… compartiendo…
El sábado, 6 de noviembre, más de 60 líderes, pastores y pastoras de la Asociación de Iglesias Bautistas de la Comunidad Valenciana (ABC en valenciano) se reunieron en su sesión anual para compartir informes de sus ministerios y planificar para el año que se avecina. Fuimos presentados a la audiencia quienes nos recibieron con cariño y expectativa por los Cursos de Formación—leer más adelante. Fue de mucho aliento escuchar informes de los ministerios de cada congregación y cómo buscan cumplir con fidelidad la misión de Dios en sus alrededores. Los ministerios de obra social abundan entre ellos así como abundan las necesidades entre las personas en paro (desempleadas) y los crecientes números de migrantes que necesitan amor y apoyo. Anticipamos muchos años de coparticipación con éstas y otras asociaciones de la UEBE donde podamos ofrecer estos talleres y cursos así como posibilidades de ministerio en otros lugares en un futuro.

IEB Mislata… predicando…
El domingo 7 pasamos la mañana en Mislata. El Pastor Pepe nos recibió amablemente como siempre y nos sorprendimos positivamente al ver que ciertamente el verano terminó; la gran mayoría de la congregación está de vuelta y la congregación era mucho más nutrida que las veces anteriores! Carlos compartió de 2 Corintios 4:7-11, alentando a la congregación a mantener su fe en medio de las dificultades que cada quien vive cada día. Cada vez que hemos ido a Mislata, doña Gloria nos ha saludado con mucho cariño; ella es una mujer de corazón tierno y apasionada por las misiones. Ella y su esposo, ya con el Señor, sirvieron en Tánger (Marruecos) por muchos años donde criaron a sus hijos, uno de los cuales nació allá, y ahora sirven al Señor en sus congregaciones locales. Ella es una guerrera de oración por la misión de Dios y Sus misioneros y nos sentimos bendecidos por su amor y oraciones.

Dénia… enseñando…
Nuestros talleres y adiestramientos a líderes (“Cursos de Formación”) comenzaron el martes, 9 de noviembre en Dénia. Tuvimos 21 participantes de muy variados trasfondos (1 de Cuba, 1 de El Salvador, 2 de Argentina, 2 de Uruguay y 14 de España—Alcoy, Alicante, Barcelona, Cuenca, Galicia, Ibi, Madrid y Xátiva) representando las iglesias de Alcoy/Elche, Benidorm, Dénia, Ibi, La Vall D’Uixó y Xátiva (asociaciones ABC y Sureste). Sus oraciones por estas experiencias siguen siendo apreciadas. Nos reuniremos dos martes al mes hasta mayo, compartiendo del Antiguo Testamento y Homilética, con un sabor muy práctico para estos pastores, líderes y miembros de iglesias que ¡tienen hambre de aprender y desean poner en práctica lo compartido!

Nuevo horario…
El fin de semana pasado otros lugares hicieron sus cambios de horario… Así que, volvemos a estar a 6 horas de EST, seguimos a 5 de Puerto Rico, pero a 9 del Pacífico y sólo a 4 de Chile... Dependemos de la tecnología que nos permite saber qué hora es en cada lugar donde le seguimos la pista a quienes amamos…
