Mathew 7:24-29 paints a very vivid picture on how to best (or worst) build a house. It lays the foundation of the importance of safe construction, which architects and engineers would benefit to follow. It also lays the foundation upon which our lives are to be built, on solid rock, the Rock of our Salvation. And He is the one we proclaim of, the One born, killed, risen, and coming again, the One who gives us forgiveness for our sins and hope of eternal life with Him.

Building upon the Rock
Last Saturday the 4th, the “MPT of The A Family Net”, a.k.a. the BGs family’s team, met on skype as we do regularly. It is always refreshing to be together though in different countries and time zones, catching up with our voices how we’ve been, holding each other up in prayer, and planning for the near, medium, and far future together. It is exciting to celebrate together how faithful God is to each of us on a daily basis (individually and in our churches) and to share our burdens and challenges with one another. As we build upon the Rock, our relationship grows stronger and closer so we can better serve those around us wherever we are. We praise the Lord for our family’s family, for each of our MPTers is part of ours and we are part of theirs.

Solid Rock=Requena
On Sunday the 5th, we were blessed to visit a new church, on the way to Madrid, Requena. Requena, with Arabic roots, means “solid rock”, hence the church’s name Iglesia Evangélica Bautista Roca Fuerte and their church planter is Pastor Antonio Martín. His assistant pastor for the children and youth is Ester Aguilarte, from their mother church Valencia-Quart. They're sending Christmas gifts to the Equatorial Guinea's children that UEBE serves. We were blessed to meet this new congregation where Brazilians, Colombians, Rumanians, and Spanish worship together as Emiliano shared the Sunday School class based on Revelations and Carlos shared during the worship service on John 6:25-35… we’d better be hungry and thirsty of His Word if we are to be satisfied by the Bread of Life. And we’d better be like the wise men that “bowed down and worshiped him”, Jesus, the newborn King, as Mayra shared with the children’s Sunday School based on Mathew 2:1-12, for He is worthy of our worship and praise!

More live connections
Later on Sunday, we were blessed to have a double skype call with a dear church in California for their two morning services, though it was evening for us in Spain. Though the temp in Spain dropped from 55 to 49 F within the two hours between services, the warmth of the connections rose with each question and our being able to participate via skype on their service, including pastor Chad’s excellent Advent reflection on Luke 1 and the fulfillment of Malachi 4:5-6 in Zechariah, Elizabeth, and John after the 400 years of silence. Are we willing to persevere in our prayers that long?

Then, please pray
Pray for families affected by the recent rains in Spain, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Chiapas and those still affected by their share in Pakistan. Pray for families affected by the fire in Israel. Pray for families still affected by earthquake aftermaths in Haiti, Chile, and China. Pray for families affected by suicide, divorce, abuse, and hatred. Pray for so many yet to hear the Good News and for the feet of those who bring IT (may there be more each day!!!)… Pray continually, pray without ceasing, and never stop praying  as 1 Thessalonians 5:17 recommends, to the Rock of our Salvation.

Mateo 7:24-29 nos pinta una imagen muy viva de cómo construir una casa mejor (o peor). Sienta las bases para una construcción segura de la que los arquitectos e ingenieros se beneficiarían en seguir. También sienta las bases para cómo construir nuestras vidas, sobre la roca, la Roca de nuestra Salvación. El es a Quien proclamamos, Quien nació, murió, resucitó y regresará, Quien perdona nuestros pecados y nos ofrece vida eterna con El.

Construyendo sobre la Roca
El pasado sábado 4, el “Equipo de la Red de la Familia H”, alias, el equipo de la familia BGs, nos reunimos por skype como hacemos con frecuencia. Siempre es alentador juntarnos aunque estemos en diferentes países y zonas horarias, para actualizarnos con nuestras voces de cómo estamos, orar unos por otros y planificar para el futuro cercano, mediano y lejano. Es emocionante celebrar la fidelidad diaria de Dios a cada (individualmente y en nuestras Iglesias) y compartir nuestras cargas y desafíos. Al construir sobre la Roca, nuestra relación se fortalece y acerca para servir mejor a quienes nos rodean donde estamos. Nosotros alabamos al Señor por la familia de nuestra familia, pues cada MPTer es parte nuestra y somos suyos.

Roca Fuerte=Requena
El domingo 5, visitamos una nueva iglesia, camino a Madrid, Requena. Requena, de raíces árabes, significa “roca fuerte”, por ello el nombre de esta misión es Iglesia Evangélica Bautista Roca Fuerte. Su pastor plantador es Antonio Martín. La asistente pastoral para la niñez y adolescencia es Ester Aguilarte, de la iglesia madre Valencia-Quart. Están enviando regalos de Navidad para la niñez de Guinea Ecuatorial que la UEBE sirve. Que bendición conocer esta nueva congregación donde brasileros, colombianos, rumanos y españoles sirven juntos mientras Emiliano compartió la escuela bíblica profundizando en el Apocalipsis y donde Carlos compartió en el culto basado en Juan 6:25-35… Bien nos vendría tener hambre y sed de Su Palabra si hemos de ser satisfechos por el Pan de Vida. Y bien nos vendría hacer como los sabios que “postrándose, Lo adoraron”, a Jesús, el recién nacido Rey, como Mayra le compartió a la niñez con base en Mateo 2:1-12, ¡pues El es digno de nuestra adoración!

Luego ese domingo, fuimos bendecidos con llamadas por skype de una amada iglesia en California para sus dos cultos de la mañana aunque era de noche para nosotros en España. La temperatura en España bajó de 55 a 49 F entre las dos horas entre los cultos, mas la calidez de las conexiones aumentó con cada pregunta y nuestra posibilidad de participar en su culto, incluyendo escuchar la excelente reflexión del Adviento del pastor Chad basado en Lucas 1 como el cumplimiento de Malaquías 4:5-6 en Zacarías, Elizabeth y Juan después de 400 años de silencio. ¿Cuál es nuestra disposición para perseverar en nuestras oraciones; por cuánto tiempo?

Entonces, oremos
Oremos por las familias afectadas por las recientes lluvias e inundaciones en España, Colombia, Costa Rica y Chiapas y quienes siguen afectadas por las suyas en Pakistán. Oremos por las familias afectadas por el fuego en Israel. Oremos por las familias que siguen recuperándose de los efectos de terremotos en Haití, Chile y China. Oremos por familias afectadas por suicidios, divorcios, abusos y odio. Oremos por tantas personas que todavía no han oído las Buenas Nuevas y por las personas cuyos pies anuncian Su paz (¡que haya más cada día!)… Orad sin cesar, oren en todo momento y nunca dejéis de orar  como recomienda 1 Tesalonicenses 5:17, a la Roca de nuestra Salvación.
