Yesterday I was blessed to participate in a true act of solidarity and grace thanks to some friends from Woodbury Baptist Church in Minnesota. We often tell groups that come to visit and work alongside of our Costa Rican friends, that projects are just excuses to build relationships.  The Mansion of Light Baptist Church in Rincon Chiquito de La Guacima de Alajuela, Costa Rica has a sister church relationship with the Woodbury Baptist Church. They share monthly prayer requests, their pastors have preached from the other's pulpit, they've stayed in one another's homes, shared meals, laughed together and most recently have shared tears as well.

One of the families in the La Guacima church lost two loved ones and one of the daughters suffered a broken femur in a tragic car accident. Their pain was felt all the way up in Minnesota. As soon as they found out, a group of women from Woodbury began praying and knitting prayer shawls to give to the family, their far away friends. They wanted to send a tangible reminder that they were surrounded by the prayers of God's people and that there is no distance too far for love.  As I translated heartfelt notes and wrapped the special gifts around the recipients, I felt God's presence and knew that I was standing on holy ground. What a privilege to be a part of God's family and to be part of such sacred moments. Thank you for all you do to make these relationships real. We couldn't be here without you and for this we are truly grateful.

Blessings,
Mylinda
