Greetings from Thailand,

As you know, there was an extraordinary effort this past year to support the World Mission Offering.To prevent the loss of some missionaries, a 36% increase was needed, a phenomenal increase for a single year.While the offering is taken in September and October in most churches, results are reported on different schedules and there are various options of how contributions can be made.So it was only a week or two ago that the reports were all in, the numbers all crunched and after the figuring and head scratching was complete, it was announced that there will be no missionary cuts this year!Praise the Lord, and thanks to you all, the budget is balanced.

We don't have the details, but the overall increase in giving coupled with some missionaries leaving voluntarily made a balanced budget achievable.You might recall that during last September and October we sent out a series of e-mail letters in support of the offering.We were very grateful for the response you made.The feedback from those letters was very positive with a number of churches and individuals reporting large increases in World Mission Offering results.So we wanted to write this special thank you for your part in making it all happen and so you know your efforts and sacrifices got the desired results.

Of course, now the challenge before us is to maintain these results and build for the future.There are many problems in our world but every problem is also an opportunity to serve the Lord and show His love.Just looking at Thailand, there is so much more that could be done and should be done and I am sure the same could be said for any location where this message is being read.So thank you again for such great results this past year and please join us in praying for even better results in the offering to come this year.
