July is here, already… As we begin our second year of service in Spain, we also celebrate 11 years of missionary service with our mission society… Praise the Lord for His faithfulness to us.
* 11 years ago you endorsed, appointed, and commissioned us in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Out of the 18 missionaries commissioned in our Class of 2000, 11 of us remain serving in Baja California, Brazil, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Thailand, and Spain and 7 of our former colleagues are serving elsewhere.
* During our first assignment (in Chile) we were blessed to see churches grow, leaders prepare, and disciples mature.
* You partnered with us to build not only a sanctuary in San Carlos (that endured Chile’s 8.8 earthquake of 2010), but also to build strong communities of faith in many places where to this day there endures a thriving witness to all that the Lord is doing through them.
* As you had us in Chile, the first female pastor was ordained within Mision Chilena. Now there are three more already ordained and others in process, as well as male pastors who studied with us at the Institute and are leading vibrant congregations in Chile. We left national leaders as Rector and Dean of their Baptist Theological Institute.
* We have had two US/PR assignments (2004-05, 2009-10) where we have been able to strengthen, deepen, and nurture the relationship with so many of you who have been faithful to the Lord in sustaining us in the field with your prayers, your encouragement, and your financial support.
* We have also had two extra blitz tours (mid-terms, 2007 and 2011) to further our friendships of love, get to know you and your churches better and let you know, face to face, how much we appreciate our serving our Lord and Savior together, from different places and in different ways but with one same Spirit.
* We have served our first year of ministries in Spain.
* You have gained new brothers and sisters in Valencia-Quart, Mislata, Torrent, Puerto de Sagunto, La Vall D’Uixó, Segorbe, Almussafes, Requena, Xàtiva, Turís, Dénia (the 11 visited), and many others yet to visit within the Baptist Evangelical Union of Spain, our sister convention.
* As itinerant pastors, we have been blessed to help prepare five of these to receive their national pastoral leadership. We have also identified some of the needs of the migrants within many of these churches and encouraged ministries with them.
* We have served our first academic year through the leadership trainings and workshops held in Dénia two Tuesdays a month. These will merge within the Aula XXI ministry beginning in October 2011.
* We have interceded on behalf of our Spanish and migrating people in Lorca after their 4.5 and 5.2 earthquakes last May 11th and together we are rebuilding that community from the ashes and the rubble. They continue to need your support even when the media has already forgotten about them.
Of course, in these 11 years we have grown individually, as a couple, and as a family. We have grown closer to so many in our place of service as well as to each of you who have adopted us in your own families and congregations. We are grateful to the Lord for His faithfulness and for your love and care. Thank you, brothers and sisters!!!

Julio ya llegó, ¿vale? Al comenzar nuestro 2do año de ministerio en España, celebramos 11 años de servicio misionero con la sociedad misionera… ¡Alabado es el Señor por Su gran fidelidad!
* 11 años atrás nos aprobaste, nombraste y comisionaste en Green Lake, Wisconsin. De 18 colegas comisionados en la Clase del 2000, 11 continuamos sirviendo en Baja California, Brasil, Costa Rica, Rep. Checa, Rep. Dominicana, Tailandia y España mientras que 7 colegas han emigrado a otros ministerios.
* En nuestra 1ra asignación (en Chile) fue de bendición ver las Iglesias crecer, el liderato prepararse y el discipulado madurar.
* Coparticipamos no solo construyendo un templo en San Carlos (que resistió el terremoto de 8.8 en Chile, 2010), sino también construyendo comunidades de fe fuertes en muchos lugares donde sigue habiendo testimonio de lo que Dios hace.
* Al apoyarnos en Chile, participamos de la ordenación de la primera pastora en Misión Chilena. Ahora hay tres más y otras en proceso, así como pastores que estudiaron con nosotros en el Instituto dirigiendo congregaciones activas en Chile. Dejamos líderes nacionales en la Rectoría y Decanatura del Instituto Teológico Bautista.
* Hemos tenido dos asignaciones a EE.UU./PR (2004-05, 2009-10) en las que hemos podido fortalecer, profundizar y cuidar nuestras relaciones contigo en EE.UU.y Puerto Rico que has sido fiel al Señor sosteniéndonos en el campo de misión con tu oración, estímulo y apoyo económico.
* También hemos viajado dos veces más (medio término, 2007 y 2011) para seguir conociéndonos, amándonos y agradeciéndote cara a cara (a ti y a tu iglesia), lo que apreciamos servir a nuestro Señor y Salvador en unidad, desde diferentes lugares y en diferentes formas pero con un mismo Espíritu.
* Hemos servido nuestro 1er año de ministerios en España.
* Has ganado nuevos hermanos y hermanas en Valencia-Quart, Mislata, Torrent, Puerto de Sagunto, La Vall D’Uixó, Segorbe, Almussafes, Requena, Xàtiva, Turís, Dénia (las 11 visitadas), y muchas otras por visitar en la Unión Evangélica Bautista de España, nuestra convención hermana.
* Como pastores itinerantes, hemos tenido la bendición de ayudar a preparar a cinco de éstas para recibir a su liderato pastoral nacional. Hemos podido identificar algunas de las necesidades de migrantes en su medio y alentar ministerios.
* Completamos nuestro 1er año académico en los Cursos de Formación en Dénia dos martes al mes. Nos uniremos al ministerio de Aula XXI a partir de Octubre de 2011.
* Hemos intercedido en favor de la gente española y migrante en Lorca tras sus terremotos de 4.5 y 5.2 del 11 de Mayo y estamos reconstruyendo esta comunidad desde las cenizas y los escombros. Siguen necesitando tu apoyo y el nuestro; especialmente ahora que las cámaras se han olvidado de ellas.
Por supuesto, en estos 11 años hemos crecido individualmente, como pareja y como familia. Nos hemos acercado más a quienes servimos, así como a quienes nos han adoptado en tu familia y congregación. Gracias al Señor por ser fiel y por tu amor y cuidados. ¡¡¡Muchas gracias, hermanos y hermanas!!!
