During the year there are many patriotic celebrations in Honduras. One of them is “Dia de Lempira”where the children wear different folkloric dresses. This celebration is on July 20th. Every year, the schools around Honduras celebrate this day with traditional food such as Tamales, atole, yuca con chicharron and dances and festivals. It is very important to have the election of the India Bonita (Beautiful Indian Queen) - the girls participate in this event. All of them want to be the India Bonita of their school.

Students from different schools participate in dances and presentations with colorful Indian custom. The music and dances make the children very happy as it is part of the culture.

Vanessa, Alexandra, and Lisbeth were excited to wear their dresses to school and be a part of the great celebration!
