Thank You So Much

Everyone!

I now have only two more chemo treatments left, May 3rd and the 17th.The first time I had the "new" type of chemo I had severe aching in my bones and muscles that lasted 4-5 days.On the positive side, this chemo did not affect my stomach and I was able to eat normally. The next time that I had the new chemo, the doctor said I could take the medicine to counter the side effects for a few extra days this time. That helped to lessen the pain some and I was able to be a little more active.

Each time I get chemo they test my blood for various indicators. This last time, my red cell count was slightly below normal.Thankfully, they went ahead and still gave me the chemo and then told me to start taking iron tablets. My prayer is that my blood levels will continue to test within the normal range so that I can keep on schedule for the remaining two treatments.

During the month off from treatments, I am still booked to fly to Thailand on May 25th so that I can attend our son Sean's high school graduation on June 8th.Then, we return to Ohio as a family the middle of June. I am thankful that I have one good week during each chemo cycle.During these good weeks I have been busy making various arrangements to prepare for our family to live in the US for our year of home-assignment.It will be so good to finally be re-united with my family again after four months of separation!

Once again, I want to thank you all for your prayers and cards/notes of encouragement for myself and our family over these past few months.Your prayers have truly meant a lot to us and have kept us going in the midst of a challenging situation.God is faithful and I am grateful for the good care I've received at the Cleveland Clinic thus far.The seven weeks of radiation therapy begin the first week of July, each day (M-F).So, your continued prayers are much appreciated!

With love,

Marcia (for Duane, Sean, Erin and Shannon, too)
