2 of 7: Lorca, 9 months and counting…
On Friday 3rd, since we were going to be in the southeast of Spain, we took the day to visit our families in Lorca. Each 11th is a day to remember their earthquakes. We were able to see how they completed work in their basement with funds from various sources; including your One Great Hour of Sharing-Spain Relief (we’ll bring you more pics in ppt when we come visit). They are truly grateful for such generosity. They continue to need resources to complete work in their main sanctuary.
     We visited both the old El Buen Camino facilities, which are in turn to being demolished (like hundreds more of buildings in Lorca), and their new facilities, where they have the Women’s Shelter you are helping sponsor. God has used this devastating experience to bring good to these women and men who are in their care. God has restored dignity to these who are recovering from their difficult experiences. Juana beams joyfully for God’s blessings and is grateful for not only serving but the opportunity to better prepare for her service in this ministry. We celebrated with her and other residents another year of life, new life in Him. We met Rubén and Miriam, the couple that has joined this ministry and Pastor Paco and the church’s efforts. What a joy to see this young couple applying what they learned at our seminary in Madrid…
     It’s been 9 months already and as we rejoice with the developments, we recognize that more is yet to be done. We trust the Lord to provide resources and volunteers to accomplish what He has begun while we continue to walk in their shoes…


2 de 7: Lorca, 9 meses y contando…
El viernes 3 aprovechamos que estaríamos en el sureste de España para visitar nuestras familias en Lorca. Cada día 11 recordamos sus terremotos. Pudimos ver cómo completaron el trabajo en el sótano con los fondos de varios donantes, incluyendo tu ofrenda Gran Hora para Compartir-Alivio España (ya les llevaremos más fotos en ppt cuando les visitemos). Están muy agradecidos por tu generosidad. Siguen necesitando recursos para completar la reconstrucción en la nave principal del templo.
     Visitamos tanto las facilidades anteriores de El Buen Camino, que están en turno para ser demolidas (como cientos de edificios más en Lorca) y sus nuevas facilidades donde alojan la Casa de Acogida para Mujeres que estás ayudando a sostener. Dios ha usado tan devastadora experiencia para traer bien a estas mujeres y hombres que están a su cuidado. Dios les ha restituido dignidad a estas que se recuperan de experiencias tan difíciles. Juana reboza de gozo por las Bendiciones de Dios y esta agradecida no solo de poder servirle sino de poder prepararse mejor para este Ministerio. Celebramos con ellas y otras residentes otro año de vida, vida nueva en El. Conocimos a Rubén y Miriam, la pareja que se ha unido a este ministerio y los esfuerzos del Pastor Paco y la iglesia. Qué gozo ver a esta joven pareja poniendo en práctica lo aprendido en nuestro Seminario en Madrid…
     Ya han pasado 9 meses y al gozarnos con sus logros reconocemos que falta mucho por completar y hacer. Confiamos que el Señor proveerá los recursos y voluntarios necesarios para completar lo que El comenzó mientras nos permite seguir caminando en sus zapatos…
