“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matt 6:9-10). One of the scariest parts of my living the Christian life is the fear of straying from my walk with the Lord. In today's fast-paced environment being busy often causes me to focus on myself instead of on Him.

The morning of Feb. 27 we were flying to Macau to see for the first time the place to which God is sending us. Although we were excited, our minds were peaceful. We knew every thing was under His control. I prayed that we would follow His steps to see and hear whatever He wants.

The take off was smooth, and when the plane became level, I looked out the window. There was once again a big cross hanging upon the blue sky. I woke Emerson to show him this “reminding” sign the Lord has often given to us, and I felt securely held beside Him.

When we reached our transfer destination and were getting off the plane, I noticed that a young lady sitting behind us was on the phone, speaking in Chinese. Later, we were at the same gate waiting for our next flight. We went to sit beside her since she was traveling alone and started the conversation with, ”Where are flying from?” Hearing that she was also coming from Columbus, Ohio, we quickly moved to other subjects and learned that we know several people in her campus-working environment. She was a visiting scholar to the university where we are serving. I was surprised because it seemed that the Lord had extended our campus ministry even though we were leaving that city and heading to the future mission field. On campus, our ministry is with students who come from other countries, but this time it was our flying companion who was going back to her country after finishing her half-year of training. God's field of ministry is truly worldwide and not limited to any location.

We were sorry not to have met her earlier, but we were glad it was not too late in God's time for us to know each other. Within a short time we had a very good conversation, sharing insights about living in a foreign country. Because Emerson and I were born and raised in Taiwan, America is, yes, “a foreign country”. I have been living in the United States for thirty-one years, but I had lived in Taiwan for twenty-four. In this short human life I do not know how many more “foreign countries” to which God may send us. Nevertheless, our short life in this world (country) is no comparison to the eternal life in that country—“the Kingdom of God”. “Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them” (Heb 11:16).

I pray that the seed we have planted in the heart of that sweet young lady will spring up, grow and finally bloom one day with her coming to know Jesus Christ who is the Savior of the world. Would you please also pray for her, too? Her last name is Lee. Thank you.
