May is a month to celebrate! There are events going on throughout the month in our network regions such as in California, Connecticut, Greater Indianapolis, Indiana/Kentucky, New Jersey, New York State, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Ohio, Rhode Island, Southwest/Hawaii, and many others… Meanwhile, enthusiasm continues to build up for the World Mission Conference (WMC) week sponsored by our mission society in Green Lake, Wisconsin on May 18–25, 2012. Many of our dear missionary colleagues will be there. Come and hear the Call…
    May is also the month for Mother’s Day and Pentecost. May is a time to thank our heavenly Father who gives us mothers to honor and love, and gives us His Spirit to continue teaching us and bringing us closer to His call.
    May is a month for us to pause and allow the Holy Spirit to affirm us in the Call we have before us. We are already in the States after 22 months of service in Spain and are attentive to God’s leading us on our next step of service (Back to Spain? Elsewhere?). We are open to following the Call to serve as He leads us. The same Lord that called Abram, Moses, Joshua, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Esther, and Mary (amongst many others) with a “do not fear” included, calls us and tells us “do not fear”. YHWH is with us, as with those of old, and with you as well.
    Our departure from Spain was right after Holy Week. During our transition, we spent Resurrection Day in Madrid and participated in an Evangelical concentration in Puerta del Sol where Jesus Christ was proclaimed for He is Risen. We were blessed to visit with some friends and also see the witnessing of those with whom we had ministered. There is a lot yet to be done in Spain, as in every corner of the earth, and we covet your continued prayers for those we have left behind. We also covet your prayers for yourself and those in your church, for openness to hearing the Call to step out in faith and serve the Risen Lord where you are and wherever He leads you.
    Hearing, accepting, and being affirmed in the Call is what gives meaning to our lives. Being in missionary service is the best decision we have made (even when it means being open to unexpected transitions). We pray that you too can hear the Call to serve with love in missional involvement in your community, in pastoral ministry, cross-cultural global mission service, or however the Lord leads you. ¡Mayo es un mes para celebrar! Hay eventos durante el mes en las regiones de nuestra red tales como California, Connecticut, Indianapolis, Indiana/Kentucky, Nueva Jersey, Nueva York, Pensilvania, Puerto Rico, Ohio, Rhode Island, Suroeste/Hawaii y otras… Mientras tanto, sigue creciendo el entusiasmo para la semana de la Conferencia Misionera Mundial auspiciada por nuestra sociedad misionera en Green Lake, Wisconsin del 18 al 25 de Mayo de 2012. Much@s colegas en misión estarán allí. Ve y oye el llamamiento…
    Mayo es mes del Día de las Madres y Pentecostés. Mayo es tiempo para dar gracias a nuestro Padre celestial quien nos da madres para honrar y amar y nos da Su Espíritu para seguirnos enseñando y acercándonos a su llamamiento.
    Mayo es un mes para pausar y permitirle al Espíritu Santo que nos afirme en el llamamiento que tenemos frente a nosotros. Estamos en EE.UU. tras 22 meses de servicio en España y estamos atentos a la dirección del Señor en nuestro próximo paso de servicio (¿regresar a España? ¿ir a otro lugar?). Seguiremos su llamamiento donde El nos guíe. El mismo Señor que llamó a Abram, Moisés, Josué, Jeremías, Isaías, Ester y María (entre tantas) con un “no temas” incluido, nos llama y nos dice “no temas”. YHWH está con nosotros, como con l@s de ayer, y contigo también.
    Nuestra salida de España fue tras la Semana Santa. Durante la transición, pasamos el Domingo de Resurrección en Madrid y participamos en una concentración Evangélica en la Puerta del Sol donde Jesucristo fue proclamado pues El ha Resucitado. Estuvimos con amistades y con quienes hemos ministrado. Hay mucho por hacer en España, como en cada rincón de la tierra, y te pedimos que ores por quienes quedan. Te pedimos que ores por ti y personas en tu iglesia, para que haya apertura a oír su llamamiento y moverse en fe para servir al Señor Resucitado donde estás y donde te guíe.
    Oír, aceptar y ser afirmados en nuestro llamamiento da significado a nuestras vidas. Estar en servicio misionero es la mejor decisión que hemos tomado (aunque implique apertura a transiciones inesperadas). Oramos que oigas el llamamiento a servir con amor en participación misionera en tu comunidad, en ministerio pastoral, en servicio misionero transcultural o como el Señor te dirija.
