Alo!

On Sunday Funday we attended the seminary church in Limbe. The church was bursting at the seems with over 600 people in attendance. We were greeted warmly and introduced to the congregation as soon as we walked in the door. They had a baby dedication of six children. Of the six families two of them had a great testimony to share. Two of the mothers thanked God for sparing their lives as well as their unborn childrens during the Cholera outbreak which infected them during pregnancy. Over 3,000 people died of Cholera last year.

After church we had a quick meal and then went to Eden for the VBS talent show. They had dancing,singing, poem reading and scripture reciting. There was also a Gold Medal Ceremony for the winners of the sport and art contests. Support for the children was supplied in abundance by not only the parents but also other members of the community. We were all touched to see that every child recieved a shoe box from Operation Christmas Child. It was great to get to see the joy on the children's faces as they recieved the gifts that all our churches participate in giving. We cannot wait to send out our next Christmas boxes after getting to be a part of them receiving their presents. Telling the children good-bye was bittersweet; we all made special bonds in the last three days. We ended our night by attending the concert of some of our new friends at the university and celebrating our friend's birthday.

Today we went to the market with Dr. Steve and Guy to buy the supplies we needed to make Rocket Stoves. On the way there we also visited the Eben-ezer Clinic and the Drops of Love Orphanage. We titled today's journal Eben-ezer because we learned today that it is a Hebrew word that means "God has brought us this far." We hope to visit both places again. After returning we had lunch and a Haitian Siesta to get out of the heat before climbing the mountain to get clay for our Rocket Stove. Tomorrow is an early day, at 6 am we are going on a five hour hike to the top of a mountain that has ancient indian artifacts on top. Dr. Steve has a cultural lesson planned out for us!
