On November 4, there will be a celebration at Karl Road Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio.  We shall celebrate the ordination of Ivy Wu, a milestone event on the journey of Ivy and Emerson as they anticipate their commissioning to Macau, China.  The Holy Spirit’s presence was very real at Ivy’s ordination council.  There was power as Ivy told her story of abandoning her families’ Buddhism and coming to belief in the “one true God” that she had been seeking. And now, having completed her seminary study and recommendation for ordination, Ivy and Emerson are close to the top of a mountain from which they can, by faith, see their next earthly home in Macau.

Their immediate travel calendar is full.  In October the Wus are going to California to present God’s call on their lives.  They will speak to churches, Bible study groups and the annual meeting of ABC of Los Angeles and Congregations of the Southwest and Hawaii.  On their return Emerson and Ivy will stop off in Indiana for two days before going to Zanesville, Ohio.  The last of the month they will be so tightly scheduled that Emerson and Ivy will separate in order to keep all the appointments.

With high activity come prayer needs.  Please pray the following for them:

w        Health and strength

w        Safety

w        Annointing of the Holy Spirit as they speak

w        Additional prayer and financial partners

Every celebration needs music.  One of Ivy’s favorite hymns is Blessed Assurance so it will be a part of the ordination service because telling the story is exactly what Ivy and Emerson love to do.  As they faithfully serve our God and Lord, may His truth and glory shine through them.
