Last fall during the first half of my U.S.-assignment time, I shared in person in some of your churches as we went on a virtual tour of China through the pictures and stories of people there--from seminary students preparing to serve in churches all over the country to orphans in the countryside that we help to stay in school. Between last fall and now, I was back at Nanjing Union Theological Seminary for the second semester, continuing to help students with their English skills, challenged to help those who were struggling most, and involved in a myriad of other responsibilities as well.  There is probably nothing more heartwarming for a teacher than to see the "lights go on" in eyes that moments earlier had been downcast and to hear excitement creeping into voices that once were discouraged.

Now, I've just arrived back in the U.S. for the second half of my time to share in person with you and others in ABC churches throughout the U.S.
What does this mean?  It means that I currently have some room in my schedule—perhaps some room just for you and your church.  If you and your church and/or a particular group in your church are interested in hearing more about our work with and through our partners in China, I need you to let me know that you would like me to come and share with you.  You can contact me at jsutterlin@hotmail.com or (408) 688-1756 to explore this possibility. I am open to sharing with churches that I didn't get to last time, as well as sharing more with some of you that I did visit last fall. I am open to sharing with small churches and groups, as well as the larger ones.  What matters is simply that you be interested in learning more about our work in China so that you, too, can feel a part of it. I look forward to seeing some of you very soon.
