Dear Friends,

We are now well into our year of assignment here in the US and Puerto Rico. Thank you for your prayers and support in this special year of our ministry. As you know we are making our home in Seattle, and are enjoying the beautiful green of the Pacific Northwest. Alisen and Andy are enjoying their schools and new friends. Ami is enjoying college in Waterloo, Canada. There have been many new experiences for our family so far this year.

Tomoko and John have been blessed with the opportunity to share about the Lord’s ministry in Japan with many of you. Again, we give thanks for your prayers and your gifts of support. Of course, if we have not yet been to your church, we still hope to be able to get there. Please keep in touch with us.

WEBPAGE

Here is something new for us. A friend we met this summer, Kerry, has created a web page for us. It is still under construction because we are slow in getting things to Kerry, but he is great at getting things up and running and we really appreciate his help. Thanks Kerry! NEWS FROM JAPAN

Armagostnov1Nov. 25th, the Nishi Okamoto Christ Church will have a special evangelistic service featuring Miss Riyo Mito. Riyo is a dance student in New York City, and has danced in Los Angeles and at Radio City Music Hall. Riyo is also a member of the Nishi Okamoto Church. This is going to be an opportunity for church members to invite friends and the community to church. Tomoko and I have a special place in our hearts for Riyo. Before going to New York to study she was an energetic and bright personality in the church and among the youth. I had the blessing of baptizing her when she was in high school.

EMMA

Emma Chan is a special part of the Nishi Okamoto Church family. Emma was born with a mental disability, but surrounded by the love of her family has grown in many ways. She loves to come and sing children’s praise songs (but doesn’t have patience to sit through John’s sermons.) Now in her 40’s she lives in a group home. This past summer some of the children and members of the church went to visit Emma’s home.

Armagostnov2They went out and dug sweet potatoes with Emma and her house mates, and had a good time of fellowship.

The theme for the World Mission Offering this year was, “Surprised By The Word!” We think of John 1:14, which tells us, “the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us…” Do we see Christ in our world, in those who hurt, those in need, those with special gifts?

PRAYER POINTS

Thanksgiving for all the people we have met during this year, and for your support.

Pray for the Nishi Okamoto Church, especially Riyo Mito and the Evangelism meeting.

Pray for Emma and her friends, and her family.

Pray that we will all see the face of Christ in those around us in our world.

Pray for our family and the rest of this year in the US.

Grace and Peace,

John and Tomoko Armagost
