Hungary
Great opportunities await anyone who is interested in teaching in Hungary!
The government of Hungary has given IM partners Hungarian Baptist Aid and the Baptist Union of Hungary the responsibility of administering over 50 public schools. Classes are conducted in English, and teachers are needed in a wide variety of disciplines. The most pressing needs include:
- Educators certified in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)
- Trained English teachers
- Specialists in other disciplines who would be interested in teaching
- Anyone simply interested in assisting by engaging students in conversations to practice their English
In addition to classroom responsibilities, these missionary teachers will participate in school activities and be involved in Christian outreach programs (summer camps, etc.) sponsored by local churches. Candidates need to be ready to embrace cultural aspects of teaching abroad with an open heart and mind.
You may join as colleagues IM missionaries Becky and Larry Stanton who are already serving and Carmella Jones who is preparing in and through Baptist schools in Hungary. To learn more, check out the the Hungarian Baptists’ video about this opportunity.
