Connie Gates, Special Assistant of Benjamin Chan for Global Primary Health Care Promotion, attended the India Mission Summit in Nagaland and made connections with leaders of International Ministries (IM) partners in India last October. Her sharing has drawn great interest in her ministry with the Comprehensive Rural Health Project, Jamkhed (http://jamkhed.org/node ). Connie then made arrangements for four officers of the Abundant Life Ministerial Associates (ALMA, click to watch ALMA video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej3aHlJ92kQ) to visit Jamkhed. ALMA Director Rev. Rufus Kamalakar was so impressed by the Jamkhed program that he is sending 20 workers to attend a four-day fundamental primary health care training at Jamkhed in March, equipping the workers to share and practice their learning in their villages. Connie also visited the Jorhat Medical Christian Center and the Satribari Christian Hospital of the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India in February 2015 sharing the Jamkhed program with the hospital staff. She is working on a similar training arrangement with the two hospitals.
