Reed All About It - Spring 2016

It has been a busy but full 8 months for us as we have been back in the US for our home assignment year, but it has definitely been a blessing to visit so many of you and your churches and share how God is working in Bolivia.  Here is a quick update from us

Family Update
Grace Working in Mexico for 6 Weeks

As I am writing this newsletter, our oldest daughter, Grace has just arrived in Puebla, Mexico, where she will be helping with short term teams and translation. She will be working with our friends and colleagues, Keith and Debbie Myers during her time there.  They will be hosting short-term teams and working in villages to support the ministry of the Myers family.  Pray for her as she shares in the ministry, translates for teams and meets new people (and is away from family for six weeks).

We are pleased to let our missionary family know that Rhonda has just completed her first year of her Master's Degree in Global Public Health Nursing at Cedarville University.  At the end of the year, as a recognition of her hard work, Cedarville recognized her and gave her a small institutional scholarship as a result of her hard work.  J.D. has begun working on his Doctorate of Ministry (D.Min.) in Contextual Theology at Northern Theological Seminary as well.  Please be in prayer for them as they work on their studies as they return to Bolivia.

Some Quick Updates from the House of Hope...

Update on Boris Cárdenas, House of Hope leader:
A few weeks back, one of our main leaders at the House of Hope became very ill.  Boris Cárdenas, who partners with his wife, Dr. Claudia Dávila to head the mobile medical ministry, contracted Fornier's gangrene and became gravely ill.  After his first round of procedures and massive doses of medicine, his condition has greatly improved and he has been sent home to begin his rehabilitation.  Both Boris and Dr. Claudia are so very grateful for your prayers for them as they dealt with his condition. Please continue in prayer for Boris and Claudia as he begins his rehab.

The new congregation of Mount Sinaí in the village of Alto Buena Vista is a ministry that just celebrated 2 years of ministry.  In this very poor community, this church began as a children's ministry and through this vibrant community outreach has grown to over 200 people!  With the help of teams from West Virginia and Georgia, we were able to join with them and build a building so their church would have a place.  Praise the Lord they will be dedicating this building in June!  They even were able to finally install a cement floor completing the inside.  God is truly blessing this ministry, but there is much more to do!
