Reed All About It - Reed Family Newsletter

Fall 2016 Edition

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people...

— Colossians 1:3-4
Our family out to dinner with family friend, Duvi Marin.

Before we go any further, we just want to take a second and say thank you for your support of God's ministry in Bolivia.  Just like the Apostle Paul in his letter to the church at Colossae, we know that without all of you in our corner, we wouldn't be here.  We don't take that lightly and we think and pray for you all often.  You are a blessing to us and we just wanted to express our thanks for your love and support.

Love to all, J.D., Rhonda, Grace, Abie, and Nathan Reed

House of Hope becomes full partner with International Ministries

Just in case you haven't heard yet, the House of Hope (Proyectos Esperanza) ministries has now become a full partner of International Ministries.  This means that it isn't just a project of a missionary anymore.  The House of Hope has been recognized as a viable partner with IM and in the future can be considered to receive missionaries directly.  This is an important step for HOH and we would like to thank you for your ongoing support that helped to make this possible!  Pictured are our directors, Richard Achu and Carmen Flores, signing the agreement along with Rhonda, who is their first official missionary.

Area Director Adalia Gutierrez Lee visits Bolivia

In September, Dr. Adalia Gutierrez Lee, Area Director of Iberoamerica and the Caribbean for IM joined our family in Santa Cruz and Cochabamba.  It was her first visit to Bolivia.  Some of the highlights from her trip were meetings with the Seminary and Baptist Union leaders, touring our kid's school in Santa Cruz and meeting pastors in the city.  She also had the opportunity to join in with a medical clinic in Cochabamba where she got to spend some time with Dylan (Pictured) and his friends at Fundación Talita Kumi.  It was such a blessing to have Adalia with us in Bolivia!

Seminary in Cochabamba celebrates 75 years!

On October 1st, J.D. had the opportunity to help celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Seminary in Cochabamba.  For generations, this seminary has partnered with the Bolivian Baptist Union to train pastors who would minister in both Bolivia and around the world.  We were honored to celebrate with them and to present a plaque of appreciation on behalf of International Ministries at this wonderful event.

Rhonda Back in WV for WVBC Annual Meetings

Rhonda is back in WV for a few weeks (October 7-24) and getting ready for our annual visit to the WVBC Annual Meetings.  She will be leading a workshop on the vision and direction for the House of Hope over the upcoming 3-4 years.  If you are interested in hearing about God's work in Bolivia and will be anywhere close to Gassaway Baptist Church for the convention next weekend, come over and join her.
Are you looking for a way to get involved? We need one or two people who are interested in helping us setup a new WordPress website for the House of Hope and it's ministries.  If you are interested, please send J.D. or Rhonda an email to jd.reed@internationalministries.org or rhonda.reed@internationalministries.org.
