Meet Patricia, 5 years old, who lives in Goma, the Democratic
Republic of Congo.
Paralyzed since the age of two due to trauma, her mother has
had to carry Patricia on her back everywhere she goes. When I met them a few weeks ago her mother,
stooped over from the sheer weight of her child, told me she didn’t know how
much longer she would be able to carry Patricia.
With specifics gifts from friends and churches in the United
States, and with the technical assistance of a local organization founded by a friend here in Congo
back in the 90’s, ACDF (l´Association Congolaise Debout et Fier), Patricia now
has braces and crutches, and is learning how to stand and walk on her own!
What a life changing difference!
I pray now that Patricia will “… in this way
stand firm in the Lord.” Philippians 4:1
