The main priority of our mission and ministry in Zambia is to provide theological education and training for the pastors and leaders in churches of our partner Baptist Convention of Zambia (BCZ).   We need your support to continue this vital ministry.  It is essential to train pastors and new leaders for the many existing and new church plants in Zambia.  Zambia International Theological College (ZITC) has only been opened since September 2008 but already lives have been changed.  Through the support and generosity of the ABCOTS region, who partnered with the Baptist Convention of Zambia, a great theological learning institution was founded.  The new college started with 6 lecturers and will be adding more as finances permit.  Courses taught at the college include Old Testament and New Testament Survey courses, Biblical Interpretation, Preaching and Pastoral Care among others.  Rev. Christopher Chanda currently pastors a small congregation in the Luanshya area of the Copperbelt Province of Zambia and has seen the benefits of scholarly research and structured learning.  “The new things I’ve learned at ZITC have changed my understanding of the bible and my preaching,”   says Chanda.  Chanda has started a list of biblical topics beyond the course requirements that he wants to research on his own time, outside of class.  He enjoys the systematic way of learning and thanks God for the opening of ZITC at the BCZ Education Center.

Thanks to the book depository ministry of Montgomery Community Baptist Church in Cincinnati, OH, a library has been started which allows the students an opportunity to do research in Old Testament and New Testament commentaries, and other theological resources. Up to date, state-of-the-art computers donated by Pomona Baptist Church in California helps the ZITC administration in the record keeping, scheduling, and overall running of the school.   The computers also assist the faculty in preparation of the lecturer's and the curriculum materials.
