Dear Friends in Christ,

This time of year is usually busy for us. With school just starting and athletics taking a front seat for our athletes, Caleb and Charliese, it means lots of ferrying back and forth to the school and spending long hours at basketball, soccer and volleyball practice. Caleb and Charliese were both chosen to play in the Independent Schools Association of Zambia (ISAZ) volleyball tournament and did very well. Caleb was chosen to be captain of his volleyball team. And although basketball is his real sport, he helped bring his team to second place. Charliese and the girl’s volleyball team did extremely well also taking 1st place for the American International School of Zambia, yeah team!

On September 19th, we hosted our Area Director for Africa, Rev. Charles Jones, as he traveled to Zambia to meet with the new leadership team of the Baptist Convention of Zambia (BCZ). This was his second visit to Zambia, first as Interim Director for International Ministries-ABCUSA and now, as Area Director for Africa. We were also honored to host the new president of our national partner of the BCZ, Rev. Isaac Zulu-at the same time, which gave Rev, Jones and Rev. Zulu a lot of time to spend with each other in meetings held by the Lusaka leadership in our home.

The last Sunday in September, we hosted over 60 people from two of our Lusaka based BCZ churches! Nineteen (19) young adults were baptized in our swimming/baptismal pool! Because the weather is so beautiful this time of year, the water was nice and "lukewarm" and the candidates weren't so chilly. It was a bit crowded and wet in the house but no one minded the inconvenience. It was great to see so many young adults get baptized and put on the right track for a great life in Christ.

Continue to pray for us as God is moving in so many areas of ministry in Zambia. Charles is still in American for the World Mission Offering and as you and your churches continue with the WMO campaign until the end of October, please be mindful of how crucial you are to carry out this ministry of Christ. We cannot be here without your support!

In His Service,

Charles and Sarah West
