This past Sat. evening, El Salvador was hit with the “tail” of Hurricane Ida. We’ve all been surprised to see just how devastating the intense rains have been in several communities throughout the country. Statistics are still coming in, but the official numbers last night were 130 deaths and more than 13,000 individuals are now without homes.

Today I’ll be traveling to the community of San Martin which has been heavily affected by the landslides. We’ll be assessing the most urgent needs in the community in order to help in a long-term plan to support this community as homes and crops have been lost. In the meantime the Federation office is working fast and furious to find out who else amongst our partners have been most affected by the rains.

Please pray for all of those affected by the flooding and landslides, and for the individuals and organizations working to respond.
