Dear Friends in Christ,
We pray that you had a relaxing yet productive summer. We just spent the month of July in Louisiana settling yet another one of our children in university. Caleb graduated from high school in June and has joined Chasah who did very well in her freshman year at university away from Mom and Dad. We had the opportunity to visit with our older children Candace and Charles who we had not seen in 4 years. We had a great visit with Charles' mother and Sarah's sisters and brothers, and our children had a chance to visit cousins and aunts and uncles whom we had not seen in years.
We returned to Zambia refreshed and ready for ministry after concentrating on family matters for a month and enjoying our holiday. Sadly though, poverty does not take a holiday. We are still called to minister to the same hungry children that we left at the beginning of July, children who want to go to school but cannot because they are orphaned or their family cannot afford an education, and students who want to further their theological education in order to shepherd the flock that God has put them over. We are still ministering to women who, for whatever reason, chose prostitution but have now renounced it in favor of following Christ.
We also returned to an exciting opportunity for some of you who have been planning to support our ministry, but just did not get the chance or did not think your gift would make a difference. From now until the end of September 27th, your gift can be matched through an "Extra Lift" Matching Fund Drive that will help us to meet our support goal. This "Extra Lift" fund is for first-time donors, but we need to hear from our ongoing supporters as well.
