Dear Partners in ministry,
It’s raining, it’s pouring!
Today seems to be unusually cool.  It has been raining most of the day and keeping the temperatures down below 90, which is nice.  The rain is a blessing from God felt by our neighbors, who are rice farmers. The rains are late this year, and our friends are breathing a sigh of relief as the last of the rice is being planted for the year.  In fact, the driest year in memory has become one of the wettest!

Rain now means that we are riding around with ponchos and bagging all of our teaching materials to keep them dry.  Trips are planned in between rainstorms, and we keep the windows closed to keep things dry.  Yes, the rains have come!  We praise God and thank you for praying with us.  Larry got out and wallowed in the mud some (rice planting), and I celebrated by taking some photos!!  Some neighbors are selling surplus rice, knowing there is going to be a harvest!

Inn rang the other day, worried that her house was going to flood.  Larry was teaching, so I called Michael, and we went over with bags to fill with sand but ended up praying with her and her mother.  God is good and the waters went down.
Brrm, brrm
Our car is back and is as good as new!  Again we praise God for his goodness; that scratch on the bumper has disappeared too.
Happy Birthday
Birthdays are good ways to get into people’s homes and lives, so when our neighbor, Cow Port, hit the ripe old age of three we went, cake and candle in hand, and celebrated.  She, in turn, showed us her great prowess with the hula hoop.  Other small people and their parents were there too, so it was a good time to interact.  Ut, Inn’s nephew, also had a birthday this month.  She came here to make his cake, and it was a privilege and a joy to hear Inn pray for God’s blessing for him.

Inn continues to teach at Yot and Bua Gao’s place each week.  There are often other people around, and they sometimes sit in on the lesson.  Inn often goes to visit and pray for Pa Bung afterwards.  Pa Bung says she is praying every day now.

We continue to be thankful for your partnership through prayer, encouragement and gifts, and we pray that you, too, are encouraged by God’s goodness in your lives.

In Christ’s love

Jan and Larry

Prayer and Praise

·      Pray for the World Mission Offering that many churches in the USA will receive in the next couple of months.  This is a big part of our support.

·      Praise God for answered prayer. The rain is fantastic!

·      Pray for those like Inn’s family who expect God to intervene.  Please pray that they would understand that he has intervened for them on the cross.

·      Pray for others who are hearing about Jesus. Pray that the Holy Spirit will work in their lives.

·      Praise for our leadership training days; they are getting meatier.  Pray that God will inspire these leaders with a real understanding and a thirst for the Bible.

·      Pray for Ut.  He comes to church with us. Pray that he and the other children who attend the Saturday school will want to follow Jesus.
