First Timothy 1:12

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me for that, and given me strength, He counted me faithful putting me into the ministry. My ministry is reducing the number of deaths from Tuberculosis among non –Thai Migrants in six border and adjacent provinces. This wonderful message of God is one of the encouragements and I always treasure in my life. He is faithful for his word, for trusting me for this ministry.

I thank God for all the people linking me in prayer, and sharing their blessings undoubtedly. I know God has a purpose and plan for all these patients whom we are working with. Though they are refugees or displaced people we were able to help them in some ways. There are times in our ministry when we cannot deny we that we have encountered problems and challenges.  But I believe that in facing life’s ups and downs we should always cling to the Lord and all His promises. Let us be like a finest bamboo bonding but never breaks at all times.

We live because one has a purpose, our individual purpose may vary, but I know this is for the glory of the Lord to sanctify His vision to this weak humanity, and to help one another to bring peace, love and good health among the people we serve.

I thank God that we were able to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Kwai River Christian Hospital (KRCH) successfully.

Dr. Scott Murray, the new director of the hospital, and his family arrived last July.  There is still an adjustment period and getting to know more about the work of KRCH. This time he’s been away for the CCT meeting in Chiang Mai. While his away the Myers family, Drs.Roy, Gill and their daughter Nikky, were here for 3 weeks to help out.  Dr. Sha klerlaw, our Karen Burmese doctor has a chance to get a holiday while they are here.

At this time most of our staff were sick with the flu including me, with aches all over, fever and cough. So I appreciate your prayers for all our staff. Also I just got a phone call that my mom who lives in the Philippines, was not well either. She has a shortness of breath and the doctor said she has a pneumonia.

Hla Aung is one of our TB patient and he lives on the Burma side of the border. He has 3 children and the source of their income is to cut wood in the jungle to make a charcoal that they can sell to buy their food.  Our DOT partner has to cross the river in order to get into their house to give the medicine. It was hard especially this rainy season to get there.  Our DOT partner is not only medicating them but also share the word of God to them.

Once a month we go for a mobile clinic at the Three Pagodas to follow up our TB/HIV patients who cannot come to the hospital because don’t have an identification card.  There is a checkpoint that the military won’t let them cross the border.

On October 11-23 2010 I was selected to participate in The Union’s International Management Development Program course on “Budget Planning and Project management which will be held at the Royal Benja Hotel Bangkok.  Accommodations, meals and tea/coffee breaks have been arranged by the union. International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease has their head office in New York. The course is paid by the union which is 2,000 Euro.

Please pray that I will be able to learn more about financial planning and project management so that I will be able to use this information in the project that I’m involved with.

Next week September 23, 2010 SR-KRCH and ARC Sangklaburi will join together for a meeting regarding our challenges and success in the implementation outcome of our TB GF6 project among the non –Thai Migrants in the area of Sangklaburi. So I appreciate your prayer for these activities of ours.
