Dear Partners in Ministry,

Joy to the world!    Jesus has come!

His coming is celebrated with a lot of fun and festivity.  Even here in Thailand—the heart of Buddhism—Christmas is celebrated.  The stores push present giving, and the Christmas-New Year period is busy with gift giving and parties.  We will use this fun time as an opportunity to share the love of Jesus.

Jesus has come!  Jesus, quoting from Isaiah, said,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has chosen me to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed
and announce that the time has come when the Lord will save his people."  Luke 3:18-19, Good News Bible

We want to show that Jesus has come, not just in the parties and in the presents of Christmas but also in and by the presence of God in everyday life.

Joy to the world!  Recently I snuck in on Bus and stuck my face in his cot. The smile of recognition was beautiful! Where was the camera?

Joy to the world!  Kids clamoring to get our teaching material as we walk into school

Joy to the world!  We encouraged a group of public health students to clean up the house of an elderly couple—an unpleasant task that bought joy to the givers and receivers.

Joy to the world!  Note the look on Inn’s face when she talks of the promise of heaven.

Joy to the world!  Witness Oui Boa’s face when she took her replacement wheelchair for a spin.

Joy to the world the Lord is come!  Thank you for your partnership in ministry.  We pray that you share our joy as we all see Jesus making a difference in lives here.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and pray that in the New Year you will experience the “Joy of the Lord” in your life and in the lives of those whom Jesus touches through you.

Joy in Him,

Jan and Larry

Prayer and Praise Points:

• Praise God for the many opportunities we have to bless people in Jesus’ name.  Please pray that people will understand God’s care and concern for them and that they will turn to him.
• Pray for Inn and Bus, who will suffer through the cold winter months. Pray that they will have good health.
• Please pray for our colleague, Anna. She has been called home to be with her parents in Hong Kong, just when she was to complete her move out to Ban Luang.  Both of her parents are unwell.  Please pray for them too.
