We have received numerous letters and e-mails in response to the Oct. 5^th newsletter about Rick Luc Chu.  This is what we have recently received as an update from the interior:

“He couldn't make it from Juba route. He came back to Bor and waited some time for a UNMIS arrangement for a flight to Wuror. He went to Wuror and came back confirming his family’s death. He had malaria and typhoid soon [after] he came to Bor and was on treatment. Later, some day in the future, he is thinking to make some church prayer in Wuror. Now he is on his job.”

Rick found his wife’s  body and buried her.  His friends dissuaded him from trying to track down his biological children who were already integrated into another tribe.   We think of the children and wonder what kind of life they will have given the deep discrimination amongst such tribes.     

The Lord can only come too soon.

Rick is back at work after a long illness (he came down with a severe case of Malaria when he returned) ……and wonders if God has a plan for his life. 

God has a plan for all our lives;   the challenge is finding and following.
