I just returned from an intense but wonderful 10 days visiting some of our ABC congregations in Oregon. It was great to visit and catch up with friends from:

Cedar Hills Baptist Church                                               First Baptist Oregon City

Ezperanza Church                                                              Rivergate Community Church

Eastwood Baptist Church                                                 Grant Park Church

Calvary Baptist Church                                                      First Baptist McMinnville

Grace Baptist

I’m always surprised to discover that visiting churches, friends, & supporters is not only a great relational experience, but also offers moments of clarity & reminds me of God’s incredible faithfulness both to our mission partners in Cuba and in my own ministry. It’s funny how telling our stories can do that sometimes… Here are a few of the God moments and good moments from the trip:

We ARE One Body: When I was asked to preach on several occasions, I had to figure out what “story” or “encouragement” would sum up what I see & live in my ministry Cuba. The story that needs to be told is about perseverance in the midst of the unexpected challenges that we as the body of believers face. While it shouldn’t have been a surprise, it became clear that just like the church in Cuba, our congregations here in the US are constantly faced with challenges we never anticipated. May each of us have the faith & perseverance of Paul.

Producing Change: Over the advent season, FBC McMinnville took on the challenge of collecting pocket change to fund windmill irrigation system repairs for some agricultural ministries our partners are doing in Cuba. With a lot of creativity, generosity, and getting every age involved they are partnering to Produce Change in Cuba. More windmills still need repair… are you interested in Producing Change? Every cent counts!

Hospitality Highlight: As a missionary I’m constantly a recipient of the most wonderful hospitality. Want to know just ONE of the hospitality highlights in Oregon? Eastwood Baptist Church in Medford held an unexpected baby shower for me! A special thanks for your care of me and of our growing family. To each of you who offered me hospitality, ¡GRACIAS!

Upcoming Cuba Trips: In late February I head to Cuba for a month. My schedule is packed with workshops, church visits, meetings, and the annual gathering of one of our partner conventions. Thanks today and always for your continued prayers, encouragement and support!

With you on the journey,

Kim
