This is the last week our children are writing their thoughts about our calling to the mission field and their experiences during our exploratory trip to the Dominican Republic in November.  Each of them, upon returning home, expressed concern and interest in the various experiences we had there. It has been a joy to watch each of them discuss and process our trip and see how some of the experiences did not leave a lasting impression. While other experiences really captured their hearts and they still talk about them on a daily basis with us or their friends and pray for their new friends. Three weeks ago, Elisabeth shared about speaking life and how God spoke to her while in the Dominican Republic  (You can read her article here.) Two weeks ago, Nathaniel shared about his dream of hope  (You can read his article here.)  Last week, Samuel shared about his enjoyment of the food while we were there  (You can read his article here.)

When we were in Santo Domingo we got to go to the National Aquarium. This was one of my favorite times in the Dominican Republic. Mom and me held hands while we walked around the aquarium.  I really liked the aquarium. The animals I liked seeing were the turtles and the live swimming fish. But, I really did not like seeing the crocodiles or their babies because they looked scary and I didn’t want to look at them. At the aquarium there is a tunnel underneath a really big fish tank that we walked in. It was like being underwater seeing all the fish swim all around.  The aquarium had a fun park that I got to play on too.  Also, I liked meeting Madeline, riding in her truck and falling asleep in it.  I cannot wait to move there with my mommy and daddy and my sister and brothers.

Please pray for Madeline, my mommy and daddy, and all the missionaries!  I am so excited and cannot wait to go.

Energetically,

Elianna McCurdy
