Khruu Fun is settling into her teaching role at the House of Blessing, and really seems to be enjoying the children. Thanks for your continued prayers for her.
On June 22-23, our staff at the IMEMF had 2 days of meetings for visioning, setting goals and planning strategies for the future. I had had concerns because the session was being lead by a non-Christian, but it turned out to be a time of encouragement and blessing. Our faith and reliance on God is the central part of who we are, and we came away with a sense of this foundation. We also were able to focus on some future needs, like the need of planning for the long-term care of our kids who are HIV positive. I thank you for praying for this, and want to share some new requests too.
One of our House of Love (HOL) boys has been having many challenges at the deaf school here in Chiang Mai, especially with his teacher who doesn’t feel he is teachable. We had a meeting with the principal, and we came away encouraged by having a new plan enlisting a one-on-one tutor in a special needs class—especially with the timing of learning of a young Lawa man who is a mature Christian and is currently looking for a teaching job. We don’t have the funds for this new position—but it seems to have God’s fingerprints on it. Will you pray that this door will stay open if this is God’s will for Sutee? We also feel this young teacher would be wonderful for helping in the spiritual development of all our boys.
July marks the start of Khruu Fun taking over for Khruu Rae at the House of Blessing (HOB). We appreciate prayer for her in this key role with the children. Because she is also the most adept with English, she will help when visitors come to the HOB.
At the end of June, Saylo submitted a form for an NGO award for the Christian Center for the Development of Persons with Disabilities (CDPD). Would you pray for favor from the committee who is looking at the applications? There is a monetary award for the projects of the 3 winners that would be helpful.
June has been a busy month of meetings, and I am mindful that another month has passed without me having time to set apart for working on things that I will share when I am in the US. And I am tired, with much to do here. I still don’t see how everything will get done—would you please be praying for me? Thank you!
