During the month of January, often we can see Mt. Fuji from the back of the parking lot next to our home. When I see this majestic peak, I remember to pray for the Japanese people.  (Can you find it?)

Since last year January, I prayed (almost) daily for more harvest workers for Japan. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:38 NIV) So, I have an alarm set at on my mobile phone. At 9:38, I set aside one minute to pray for more workers to share the gospel in Japan. This month we heard the good news that a new missionary will come to teach English starting this summer! The Lord heard our prayers and is mobilizing the next generation of workers for Japan. Thanks for praying with me. Please keep praying since there is another opening available for an English teacher. Rejoice in the Lord!

Eleven days from now, 3/11/2017, there will be ceremonies in remembrance of the nearly 20,000 people who lost their lives in the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear disasters six years ago. Many Japanese are still open to hearing the good news of Jesus Christ because of the many prayers that were lifted up for the survivors. Let’s keep praying for more workers to serve the Japanese who are still recovering. Also, please pray that many more Japanese will receive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!

May the Lord continue to richly bless you!

With Thanks and much Love,
Gordon and Lee Ann Hwang
