Wendy teaches at the Bible Institute of Kimpese, 120 miles west of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She also works with a team of doctors, pastors, and lay people holding “Responsible Living Skills” seminars for young people, advocating a return to biblical principles of sexual behavior as part of the fight against AIDS.

She writes: I recently went out of my “comfort zone” to work with little kids. I volunteered with 3 other ladies and a high school student to take care of the children during our 4 PM church services.  We had 65 kids on Thursday, and 110 yesterday, ages 3-13!  Coloring 60 hard-boiled eggs was done yesterday, assembly-line, with each kid coming up to either dip the egg into the dye, or take it out.  The eggs are at my house now, and tomorrow morning we'll have an Easter egg hunt on the lawn of the Bible Institute before eating the eggs with a slice of bread.

Then, toward the end of the church service, all the kids will file into the sanctuary in an orderly fashion, of course, and line up in the center aisle and at the front, for the final hymn:  "Up from the grave He arose!" in Kikongo.  The kids have been practicing bowing their heads in sorrow during the verses, then jumping up and down for joy during the chorus!  The hard part will be getting them to calm down in time to start the next verse.  We'll do some more rehearsing tomorrow morning.  It will really be a celebration!

Thanks for your prayers!  ALLELUIA!  HE IS RISEN!
