Wendy Bernhard
Wendy teaches at the Bible Institute of Kimpese in the Democratic Republic of Congo, 120 miles west of Kinshasa. She also works with a team of doctors, pastors, and lay people holding “Responsible Living Skills” seminars for young people, advocating a return to biblical principles of sexual behavior as part of the fight against AIDS.
She writes: Thanks for your prayers for the Bas Congo retreat, held last week at the former leprosarium of Kivuvu. It went well, and the highlight was a concert by blind singer and composer Henri Lembe. He was accompanied by three of his four children, all of whom are blind or losing their sight from retinitis pigmentosa.
· Please pray for their ministry in music, which challenges Christians to deepen their relationship with the Lord.
· Please pray for continued safety in travel for our team here in Bandundu, and for outreach to children, youth and adults through preaching, seminars and Christian films. I have the Jesus film in two languages of this province, and several Billy Graham evangelistic films.
· Thanks for your prayers and support which are making this evangelistic trip possible!
