Steve and Nancy are doing medical work in different clinics in Haiti under the sponsorship of the Haitian Baptist Convention. They have been re-appointed and commissioned as jointly appointed missionaries, in partnership with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

Steve writes:      “God has been blessing us here in Gwabary,” Pastor Jesula greeted us, as we gathered in the humble little Grace Assembly Church in central Haiti. A group of us had come to visit the Community Health Evangelism (CHE) workers of the small village of Gwabary. “Several years ago,” Pastor Jesula continued, “the community of Gwabary invited the CHE trainers to share the program with the village leaders. The community decided to adopt the program and a village CHE committee formed and received the training. However, the program did not progress in the village and appeared it was going to fail.

“But two members of my church and I believed strongly that this program was a gift from God. We believed God did not want this program to fail in our community. So we met and prayed. One of the trainers, Ossé St. Juste, came and helped brainstorm with us what to do. Ossé told us that, even if the rest of the community was not interested in the program, we could try to start the holistic health CHE program with just the members of our church, even though our church was very small. Now, two years later,” Pastor Jesula beamed, “the CHE program has spread beyond our church. The program is now involving all the churches in the village and is reaching the entire community!”  He went on to recount the different community development projects, such as physical and spiritual health education, building latrines, gardening and family fish-farming micro enterprise that are currently going on in this small village in the hills of central Haiti.

·        Thank you for your love, prayers and support for all of us here in Haiti.

·        Pray for Nancy and Steve as they minister for Christ in Haiti.
