"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
Because Jesus offered Himself to the world, Ketly was able to receive God's call to be a missionary at age 22. Ketly saw herself going back to her birth country, Haiti. She said: "What a better place to go where there is so much need"! After that call, she had a great desire to go immediately to Haiti, but the Lord did not open the door.
God wanted her to see the world through His eyes. She had the opportunity to do her internship with Eastern University in the Congo (Zaire) for a period of six (6) months. It was in the Congo that the Lord enabled her to see and love the world as He sees and loves the world, not the places where she felt comfortable. God opened her heart for the people in Congo, which gave her access to people around the world, not only to the people in Haiti. The Lord must have said: "Now, she is ready to be a missionary."
God knows how to make changes in our lives. Once we were spiritually dead and we come to know Christ, He gives us new life from spiritual death and give us a call to ministry. When Jesus said: Lazarus, come out!" He calls us from our four walls, from our family, from our country and from our church family. And now, He gives the order to the church to "Take off the grave clothes and let him go." Ketly was sent in 1993 to the Dominican Republic through International Ministries from the World Mission Offering. Through your offering to the WMO in 1992, you were able to unwrap her body, just like Jesus' disciples unwrapped the body of Lazarus (John 11:44), so she could go to share the Good News of salvation in Christ Jesus around the world. When Jesus gives us a call, He is counting in our brothers and sisters to accompany us and loose us through your prayers, cards, personal visits in the field, financial contributions to the WMO, and to missionary Targeted Giving through ABC-IM..
In 1999, the Lord sent us through you to Bluefields, Nicaragua. During these last ten (10) years of our lives, we never imagined that His love in our hearts could have touched so many people of another country. Through your offering to the WMO and Targeted Giving, we were able to go in order for Angelica, Amelina, Joel, Escarlet, Onell, Osneyda, Iris, Alberto, Argentina, Jeffrey, Yesenia, Francisco and many others to come to know the Lord, to grow in His image and to change so that in turn we can see the surprising effect of reproduction -- they are making disciples! Thank you for allowing that to happen, and it will continue to hapen as you give to the World Mission Offering and to Targeted Giving. All of us say, Thank You!
We are inviting you to continue to set many other people free so they can in turn free others in Jesus' name through your giving to the World Mission Offering and Targeted Giving.
