Prayer and Praise for December, 2009
I have some wonderful news to share with you about IMEMF finances. You may remember we hosted a team from America who came to shoot a documentary of the House of Love and what is happening here in Thailand. They decided to start a website and also to tap into the social networks on the internet and ask for people to give one dollar to affect change here in this country. 100% of the money will be going to our projects—and I am amazed to say that the mydollarforchange.org and the hopeforhilltribes.org have already brought in $42,000 with another $18,000 pledged! If you know of anyone who is wanted to support us, please have them look at the websites.
Praise and Prayer Points:
- Thank you for praying for my trip back—it was uneventful, which is the best thing when traveling internationally! Saylo and I had a marvelous 3 months—touching all 4 corners of the US (southern California, Oregon, Maine and Florida) sharing over 50 times. One of the highlights was having my family join in the 25 year celebration at my church. Saylo and I would both appreciate prayer while our bodies make the 12 hour time change as we come back to very full schedules
- The best part of being back in Thailand is all of the hugs I am receiving from the children! It has been wonderful to catch up with the House of Love kids, and also be back with the House of Blessing daycare children. I am thankful to God that all of the children are enjoying good health right now, which is a huge blessing. We are also blessed to be eating fish from our ponds, and vegetables that the children are raising themselves!
- The Health Project staff have completed 12 projects (8 clean water, 2 sanitation, and 2 mosquito net distribution) as well as health seminars, survey work and the VBS camp—it has been a busy year, and now the teams are doing planning and more strategizing for 2010. Please pray for that process.
- We are making lots of plans for the celebration for the opening of our property on January 23rd. Please pray for all of the details. One exciting bit of news—we will have a team from the American Baptist churches here at that time.
- You have seen this request many times, where we had asked you to please keep praying for the House of Love and House of Blessing grant that the Japanese Embassy is considering. Thank you for praying, and now join us in praising God for his provision!! We received an early Christmas present when we learned that the grant has been approved to build the HOL boys’ dorm. (The House of Blessing will have their classrooms on the ground floor).
We have had a really wonderful December so far. On Dec. 18, the House of Blessing children met with the 5th grade students from Grace International School for their annual Christmas celebration. This was the 6th year for this event, and it was an amazing morning of interacting with the Christmas story with games and activities. And on Dec. 19th, we had a combined House of Love and House of Blessing worship celebration at the new property, with daycare parents joining in on this special day. An additional surprise is that the daycare children have been blessed with gifts from students in Singapore. The CDPD also had their family Christmas party on the 19th—always wonderful to see the program our children do! Watch for pictures next month!
