Prayer and Praise for July, 2010

If there is one thing I have learned in my 25 years of serving in Thailand—it is that we need your prayers!  I am grateful for each of you who commit to praying for me and the staff and each of the projects.  I feel  right now I need to ask for special prayer for wisdom and grace especially for my co-director, Khun Amnuayporn and me as we continue to work out how to parent so many teenagers!  The House of Love kids are in no way perfect, and at times make some bad choices, just like any teenager will, and so we need to know how to set reasonable and careful limits that will enable each child to succeed at school and in life.  We appreciate you for praying for our home life!

Praise and Prayer Points:

·         Thank you for praying for the need of another house mother at the House of Love (HOL). Min is a 25 y/o Lahu woman who started this past month, and is fitting in beautifully.  She has a kind and gentle manner, and is eager to help in whatever way she can.

·         A praise from the school integration program at the Christian Center for the Development of People with Disabilities:  one of the local government schools have has taken several of our integration students has hired 3 teachers to help in the area of children with disabilities with a real vision to serve this population of children.  I also wrote a 15 page proposal for Finland this past month—please pray the relationship between Finland and the CDPD will continue to be strong.

·         The House of Blessing day care staff are looking to add new students from some new urban communities nearer where the center is.  Please pray for this whole process, especially the relationships that are formed with the families of the children.

·         We are so excited that the boys’ dorm/daycare classrooms continue to progress towards completion.  Tiling was going on this week.  And the women’s apartments are moving along too—I have attached some pictures so you can join in our excitement.

·         The Health Project teams are traveling with our major funding agency from Sweden right now, looking at work currently being done.  Please keep praying for our Ahka, Lisu , Lahu and Karen staff as they serve.

·         Finally, I would like to travel to the US in August, having time to meet with my Ministry Partnership Team (MPT) as well as using some vacation time to be with my family.  Would you pray for me as plans come together for this?  I am not sure about the timing of the trip yet.  Thank you for coming alongside me in prayer!
