Dear Partners in Christ,

I’ve had the privilege to know Vital & Ketly for seven years, and during that time I’ve come to know that not only do they love the Lord but they have an awesome vision for ministry. Recently in speaking with Ketly, it was exciting to see that the vision continues to become a reality in Bluefields, Kukra Hill, and Rama.

Bluefields is now the home of the Bethel Music Institute.  In the summer of 2011, Vital requested that Daniel Lemes help create a music school at the church. Daniel first heard of Ketly and Vital through International Ministries.org in 2009. He has spent three summers in Nicaragua teaching instrumental music and music theory.  Additionally, Daniel has trained the musicians from Haiti - Daniel, Gethro and Venelson to be the lead music teachers at the school.  Classes at the school include piano, drums, guitar and bass.  Please pray for the upcoming Christmas concert by the music teachers and the children scheduled in December.  Also, the school is in need of additional instruments and various other music resources and accessories as well as people willing to come and serve who have a background in music. While a great deal of work still needs to be done, we praise the Lord that the school is an instant success.

Other ministries continuing to do well in Bluefields are the daycare, after school programs and bus ministry. An exciting event coming up in December and January (Nicaraguan summer) is a Sports and Music Camp.  Ketly has requested and is hoping that some of you reading this letter would be willing to travel to Bluefields and volunteer to be a part of this event!  Summer camp in January sounds tempting!

The Bethel Church in Kukra Hill, the second church/school plant by the Pierre’s, continues to grow as well. Pastor Joel Garcia will be finishing his seminary studies this December. As pastor and principal he has been very faithful in pastoring the hearts of 125 children and focusing much of his attention toward their education.

In Rama, the third church plant by Bethel Church in Bluefields is continuing to have services in a tent. Construction on the church has begun and the foundation is finished. The work is slow but underway and being supervised by Jacobo who led the previous construction in Kukra Hill. Numerous work teams are needed to assist with this building project.  A house that accommodates 20 people, where ministry teams can stay, has already been completed. Argentina, widow of the late “Don” Fletes, along with Onell and Escarlet (and 10-month-old daughter Esther Sarai) are shepherding the church family there in Rama. Ketly and Vital have requested that we remember Argentina in our prayers.  She had experienced some loneliness and depression after the sudden passing of her husband.  However, as a result of these circumstances, her daughter has recommitted her life to the Lord and Argentina continues to carry on the ministry that she and “Don” stepped out in faith to begin.

Overall, the ministries continue to go well in Nicaragua.  However, there were numerous challenges for the Pierre’s upon returning from their 18 months away, and some refocusing and lots of encouragement have been necessary.   But the Lord is faithful and His work is being accomplished through his servants in Bluefields, Kukra Hill, and Rama.

In closing, I would like to ask that you join me and the MPT (Missionary Partnership Team) in praying for the Pierre’s ministry and that these needs be met:

1) Mission teams to assist in building the church in Rama.
2) Volunteers to assist with the Sports and Music Camp in Bluefields this December and January.
3) A few special volunteers able to devote several months to a year to teach English.
4) Anyone and everyone willing to use their gifts in Nicaragua.
5) Enlistment of more prayer partners and financial supporters.

It has been such a joy to serve our Savior alongside this precious man and woman after God’s own heart.  On behalf of the MPT, thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for being a vital part in the work He is doing through our brothers and sisters in Christ.

In Christ,
