What are you rehearsing for? Every year, Soshin Girls’ School has their school festival bunkasai. During bunkasai, there is a Senior Parade where groups of girls create a skit or dance. This year, Naomi is a senior and she, along with her friends, danced in the parade. They picked a comic character, Ojarumaru, and invited one of their teachers to dance with them. Ojarumaru is a famous kids’ cartoon shown on TV in the evening.

The parade is performed twice, once per day. On the second day, the teacher had an accident. She sprained her ankle that morning! So, whom did they ask to be her replacement? Lee Ann of course! Naomi showed her the dance, they played the DVD practice video, and a few hours later, Lee Ann joined them on stage!

The crowd calling out, “Hwang sensei, Hwang sensei!” spurred on the performers to greater heights. So, if you look closely, you can see Lee Ann and Naomi dancing together in the final high kick ala Rockette style. The Bible says,

“Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with timbrel and harp.” Psalm 149:3 NIV

Someday, we may be dancing with and for Jesus. All it takes is a little faith and maybe some rehearsal.

We are dancing for joy for the many people that have responded and pledged toward our financial support. Would you consider a donation or pledge to World Mission Offering now through October? Please know that your part in the body of Christ is extremely valuable. Please donate at your local American Baptist church or visit http://www.internationalministries.org/drives/12, and see how you can touch lives all over the world!

            Dancing with Joy and Thankfulness!
