The CDPD helps mothers of children with disabilities have ways to earn income. Pictured here is a family receiving a sewing machine.
September 14th marked the 30th anniversary of my arrival in Thailand. It is hard to believe so many years have been spent in Asia! I praise God for His faithfulness and loving kindness, and also thank God for so many prayer and financial partners through 3 decades of service. While I have lived in Thailand, I have always been a part of the Thailand Baptist Missionary Fellowship (TBMF). TBMF will be celebrating 40 years of service this year. This fellowship is the cooperation of Baptists from 6 countries, including the USA, UK, Sweden, Japan, Australia, and Norway. I am grateful for these colleagues from so many different places who have a heart to serve God!
The House of Love (HOL) students are busy with semester finals. Many of our high-schoolers have projects that are time-intensive to finish up. Pray for diligence and good results! Please also pray for our staff as we plan activities for the October break.
For the past 8 years, students from Grace International School have visited the House of Love (HOL) kids and had a Saturday program. This year, they will be bringing in a new (and hopefully fun!) English program to help our students become more fluent. Please pray this can be a valuable time, as well as a time to make good friendships.
There are 52 House of Blessing (HOB) students who are taught by 3 teachers. Please pray for good health, energy and creativity for teachers Khruu Jae, Khruu Rae, and Khruu Pon as they interact with this lively group of preschoolers daily!
Over the past years, I have had a good relationship with different groups from Japan. I have recently been approached by one of the school groups there about the possibility of having a student internship program. Please pray for wisdom for me as the staff and I look at what this may mean.
The Christian Center for the Development of People with Disabilities (CDPD) is facing a major shortfall of funds—perhaps as much as $20,000. We are required to self-finance part of the budget, and gifts have been slow in coming. If you would like to help us, please give a gift through International Ministries as a “specific” for the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program in Maesariang, Thailand. I have included 2 photos from the project that show how families of children with disabilities are blessed and encouraged.
Looking ahead to October, I will have a busy time with 2 conferences, and would appreciate your prayers as I attend and share. The Church of Christ in Thailand (CCT) will have their biennial meetings. TBMF will also have their conference and celebration of 4 decades of service.
