I know snow is still falling in the US, but here in Thailand we are in the midst of our hottest season, and Thai summer means summer vacation for the children.  Thanks to the organizational skills and generosity of some House of Love (HOL) sponsors, all of the IMEM staff and the HOL children went on a one week holiday to the beach in Phuket.  Special times included a seafood beach barbeque, a trip to an aquarium, visiting another home for HIV-infected children, doing a community service project, and attending a marvelous dinner show.  Even the bus ride (for 2 days each way!) was fun for everyone!  Thanks for praying for the trip -- everyone had an amazingly exceedingly wonderful time!  

Prayer requests:

•    The House of Blessing daycare children ended with a wonderful Easter party at Grace International School.  Games, cookie decorating, an egg hunt, and the Easter story complete with puppets made for a great morning.  Please be praying for all of the daycare children during the summer holidays.  Our staff has noted that more and more of the daycare children are working in the night market, sometimes until 1am!  Please continue to pray for us as we work with parents to keep them from exploiting these little ones.

•    The Health Project staff is doing special teaching with youth during the summer holidays.  Please be praying for them to have meaningful interactions with teens.

•    Thank you for praying for the occupational therapist at the Community-based rehab program.  Darat has finished her chemo and radiation, but unfortunately, the tumor has not responded well.  She has decided to continue working at the CBRP as her health allows.  Please pray for all the staff as they serve people with disabilities.

•    Our builder is planning on bringing in a large work crew to do all five buildings at the same time (boys and girls dorms plus the kitchen, extra bathrooms and laundry facility).  They are completing another project here in Chiang Mai, and the plan is still to start the end of April or early May.  Please keep praying for this whole process, as well as the funds still needed because of the weak dollar exchange.
